Description

Find amazing views of the sound from our beach house. Relax and dine on two front decks equipped with a porch swing and comfortable seating to watch spectacular sunsets! See pelicans, pods of dolphin and osprey hunting over the sound. Enjoy the peace and tranquility on our quiet block with no traffic. Walking distance to the beach at Jockeys Ridge State Park. Five minute drive to Jeanette's Pier, beaches, outlet stores, restaurants, grocery stores and a variety of recreational activities. The space Our 1,700 square ft. pet friendly beach house with open floor plan is cozy and inviting and can accommodate up to six guests with plenty of comfortable seating. ALL DOGS MUST BE DECLARED UPON BOOKING (age, sex, breed) with approval by owner (MAX of 2 dogs only— a flat fee of $150 is required). The home’s reverse layout has three bedrooms with two full baths on the lower-level. The upper-level great room with cathedral height ceiling and large picture windows offers incredible water views from the living area, dining room and kitchen. This floor provides ample seating, 65" flat screen smart TV, DVD player, bookcase with a large selection of books, DVD's, board games and puzzles. Our dining area adequately seats six and counter seating off the kitchen provides additional seating for four. This floor also has a convenient half bath and laundry room with full sized washer and dryer right off the kitchen. Fireplace is not currently operational. Rental in our home includes all linens, sheets and towels, a well equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking and baking including pots, pans and even a large lobster pot! We offer a variety of dishware, utensils, and dry spices. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator with icemaker. On the ground, a gas BBQ is available out back. A picnic table and seating area is located under the house with wooden swing, beach bicycles, a large cooler, beach chairs, and umbrellas for guest use. The backyard is also fully fenced in and safe for children and pets. Decks The house has three decks. The first floor deck is off the front of the house and faces out toward the sound with two rocking chairs and a porch swing. The second deck is located directly above extending the distance that you can see over the sound. It offers two large bar-height Adirondack chairs, side table, a built-in bench and bar table with seating for three. The third deck is off the kitchen and faces the backyard. It includes two Adirondack chairs, small side table and bench. Sound access is located just across the street where guests can enjoy fishing and crabbing on Soundside Road, within view from the house. Bedrooms Each of the three bedrooms offer 43” flat screen Smart TVs with Wi-Fi app accessibility. The master bedroom offers a king bed with two dressers, seating, large closet and beautiful views of the sound. The en-suite has a spacious tiled shower and marble topped sink. The second bedroom presents a king bed, dresser, seating and large closet. The third bedroom offers a bunk bed with a full-size lower bed and a twin on the upper. It also offers a closet and dresser. OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: Must be 25 years or older to book property and primary renter is expected to stay at the property. This is a family oriented neighborhood. No college spring breakers, no house parties, no recreational drug use. Our house is available for Saturday to Saturday weekly rentals ONLY during in season from April through Oct. and for 3 night minimum stays during the off season from Nov through March. Guests are responsible for supplying their own paper products for their stay including toilet paper, paper towels, napkins etc. Starter supply of toilet paper is provided for convenience as well as one roll of paper towels, hand soap, new sponge, dishwashing soap, dishwasher pods, garbage bags and basic cleaning supplies. A small supply of laundry pods and dryer sheets are provided as well. All pillows, bed linens, blankets, bath towels/washcloths, 2 kitchen towels and oven mitts will be provided. Beach towels NOT included. Propane gas fireplace not currently operational. Pets are allowed—MAX of 2 dogs (NO PUPPIES—must be at least 18 months old). No cats permitted. ALL DOGS MUST BE DECLARED WHEN MAKING RESERVATION with age, breed and sex provided with approval by host. A flat fee of $150 is required. Guests are responsible for any damage to the property. Large dog crate provided in bunk bedroom closet for convenience. If used during your stay, you must clean it afterwards and store it back in closet how you found it. Retractable child/pet gates can be found in master king bedroom closet. Pet cleaning supplies are provided. Guests are responsible for removing any pet waste in yard. Pooper scoop and pet waste bags provided in carport area. Please clean up any pet accidents immediately to prevent permanent stain. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY FURNITURE OR BEDS. Please sweep up/vacuum before departure if dog is a heavy shedder. Please do not request to book our house if your dog is prone to having accidents. Things to do in Nags Head and close by: Jockey’s Ridge State Park is a five-to-seven-minute stroll down Soundside Road. Visit the beach and enjoy the morning breeze, relax in the warm summer water, and watch spectacular sun sets across miles of the Roanoke Sound. Parking in this area closes at 7 p.m. from April to September and earlier in the off-season making this beach exclusive for those staying nearby. There are several hiking trails connecting this area of the park to remote beaches and toward the 100-foot-tall sand dunes, the tallest active sand dune system in the eastern United States. The main entrance to the park is accessible via a short drive from the house. Bring a kite or hike up the dunes to view both the ocean and the sound. There are many activities available in the park, including hang gliding. This is a popular location for visitors to watch gorgeous sunsets. Jockey’s Ridge is the most visited park within the NC park system. Beach access is a short bike ride or drive across the highway to one of the many public access areas to the beach. Jeanette’s Pier is a short seven-minute drive south on the Croatan Highway. It is a lovely family oriented beach that is equipped with seasonal lifeguards, free parking and public restrooms and public outdoor rinsing areas for your feet and body. It is also a great site for surf fishing. Outlet stores and shops are just over a mile south and include Vera Bradley, American Eagle Outfitters, Eddie Bauer, J.Crew, Gap, Michael Kors and more. Other fun things to do include: Go-Carts, Mini Golf, Golf and more… Full Throttle Speedway (2 miles south) Mutiny Bay Mini Golf (2 miles south) Nags Head Golf Links (1 mile south) Wright Brothers National Memorial – This national historic site operated by The National Park Service is located on the Croatan Highway less than 5 miles from the house. Bodie Island Light house in Nags Head Travel north to Corolla to take tours and see the wild horses running wild on the beach. Local Supermarkets Harris Teeter (two miles north), Publix (five miles, next to Lowes), Food Lion (two miles north or south) Off the Island… H2OBX Waterpark – the park is 22 miles north from the house off the island. Explore on Roanoke Island! Manteo is a 15 minute drive from the house where you'll find many eclectic shops and fine restaurants. Fort Raleigh National Historic Site - protects and preserves known portions of England's first New World settlements from 1584 to 1590. It also preserves the cultural heritage of the Native Americans, European Americans and African Americans who have lived on Roanoke Island. The Lost Colony – With more than 100 actors, staff and volunteers, see epic battles and Native American dances. Experience the sorrow and heartbreak of tragedy and loss. Witness the pageantry of the Queen and her court and celebrate the birth of Virginia Dare, the first English child born in America. There is music, laughter, romance and dance (summer season only). Elizabethan Gardens - Formal and elaborate gardens were kept to entertain Queen Elizabeth I during her reign. The Elizabethan Gardens is a project of the Garden Club of North Carolina and was created for your enjoyment and as a living memorial to the time when Sir Walter Raleigh’s lost colonists lived in this very place on Roanoke Island over 400 years ago. North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island - Explore the “Waters of the Outer Banks” through aquariums and interactive exhibits. Watch fish and sharks in the 285,000-gallon “Graveyard of the Atlantic” habitat, which features a one-third scale replica of the Civil War ironclad USS Monitor. Touch tanks and the wetlands walk are just some of the attractions here to connect you more closely with nature. OBX Ghost Tours – Exclusively offered from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Roanoke Marshes Light House/Manteo Weather Tower Roanoke Island Festival Park – climb aboard the 69-foot Elizabeth II, a 16th-century merchant sailing ship; the first English Settlement site; Explore coastal Algonquian culture and history in American Indian Town; Roanoke Island Adventure Museum; the fossil pit; and the board walk and grounds.
