This 1925 Bungalow is a relaxing space whether visiting Quantico for TBS/OCS/FBI graduations or sightseeing. Amtrak and VRE train stop under 5 minute walk direct to Alexandria, Crystal City, or DC (Union Station). In town you can fish, watch the sunset at the Potomac River, visit restaurants, or drive 5 minutes to the golf course (open to public). For DoD Cardholders it is 7 min walk to theater/gym/bowling. Town access is through military base. REALID is needed to use the highway to town The space This is a single family Bungalow home with a living room, dedicated work space, dining area with table and chairs for 6, full kitchen, and sunroom which is set up as a coffee/wine bar conversation area. The home has been tastefully decorated with a touch of the Marine Corps featuring photos/postcards at Quantico mostly from the era the home was built. There are 2 bedrooms and a pull-out queen sofa bed in the living room. One full size bathroom with a glass shower at the back of the home. When you enter the home you'll find a hall coat rato store your coats/purses/shoes and will also see the dedicated work space (desk and chair). The ceiling fan is adjustable speed and you can use the fan without the light as well. The living room has a 42" remote-controlled TV with streaming services, an oversized chair, comfortable sofa-bed couch, ottoman where the top flips over to use as a table top. The room has a soft rug, oversize clock, and trunk under the TV which has a selection of books and games for entertainment. The floor lamp in the living room has small storage on shelves as well as USB ports. The sofa is an Italian-made Amalfi sleeper sofa with a 1” gel-infused memory foam mattress which can serve as an extra bed in the living room. There are full linens for the bed which are located in the drawer of the trundle bed. The dining room has a wood table and 6 chairs, there is a leaf available to extend the table if desired as well. The dining room has a fantastic light that can be dimmed and the color can be adjusted to various lighting depending on your preferences. The first bedroom is at the front of the home (off of the living room) has a queen size bed, large closet, 3 drawer dresser, nightstand with a lamp and USB port, and 32" remote-controlled TV with streaming available. The second bedroom is in the middle of the home, off of the dining room and has a twin-size IKEA Hemnes daybed with pull out trundle. Pulling out the trundle creates a second twin-size bed (or a full size king, you can turn mattresses horizontal or vertical). The second bed cannot be separated from the main daybed. The trundle bed has storage underneath for the extra linens and linens for sofa bed. There is a small bifold mirrored closet (narrow though) and inside the closet there is a small shelf on the right side of the closet with a small selection of toys and books for children to use while visiting. The bathroom has a shower with a dual-shower head (with detachable sprayer), a vanity with storage drawers. A starter pack of 2 rolls of toilet paper and hand soap provided complimentary. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space to store food and is fully-stocked with dinnerware for 6 to include plates, bowls, cups, eating utensils, mugs and children's dinnerware. Cabinets have everything you need for cooking easy or elegant meals and snacks such as: mixing bowls, full set of pots & pans to include griddle, popcorn maker, crock pot, toaster, baking sheets, cake pan, and many cooking utensils. Placemats and napkins are provided as well. Complimentary dish soap, paper towel roll, ziploc bags, salt/pepper, cooking oil, and some other seasonings are provided for use. There is a microwave above the gas-range stove. The kitchen is well-lit making it easy to cook. A dish rack and soap/brush are provided for cleaning dishes (located under sink). Please clean items after use. The coffee maker makes drip-style or K-cup coffee. an assortment of K-Cups and creamer/sugar are available complimentary for guests. Off of the kitchen is a small seating area for 2 with a ceiling fan overlooking the backyard. The backyard has string lights for a cozy evening along with a table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining. This location is near (but not on) the water, it is a short (less than 3 min) walk to get to the fishing dock. Also please be aware of mosquitos (seasonally) and bring bug spray if desired. The gate across the yard leads to the alleyway where you can take a shortcut to get to the main street for dinner, etc. Free wi-fi available throughout home. Home has 2 exterior security cameras: one by front door roofline facing the exterior of front door and gate/walkway and another on the steps in the backyard facing the rear window and door. These are for the safety of apartment renter and owner. Guest access The neighborhood is easy to walk around in. Just one street over you will find several small restaurants and carry-out dining as well as a small convenience store. Many close after lunchtime but a few are open into the evening. If you want a marine style haircut, there are plenty of barber shops there as well. The train station for the VRE and Amtrak is a short 5-minute walk from the home - it is easy to catch the train for a trip into DC. If you have a DoD ID the movie theatre, bowling alley, and gym are a short 10 minute walk away. The Medal of Honor golf course and restaurant - open to the public - is less than a 5-minute drive. Just off base you’ll find the historic City of Triangle with a small casino, food, grocery, antique and thrift stores, and some historical sites. Street parking is available at no cost - no reserved parking but generally, there is availability right in front of the home. Other things to note Items available for use loaning shelf is in garage - please clean/return items after use or $5 charge per item for cleaning person to do for you. Red Radio Flyer Wagon (2 children can ride in it, or it can be used to take picnic supplies down to park, etc.) High chair, Booster seat, baby bathtub, pack n play, assorted small toys and kids books Charcoal grill, portable chairs, beach towels Basketball, hand weights, yoga mat --------- The town has a small playground at the community center one street over for use as well. You can play basketball at the park and enjoy the view of the Potomac River, there are also community grills and picnic tables at the park for use. There is a beautiful pier you can walk out on for views and also some great fishing or to launch a kayak (you would need to bring your own equipment). The Quantico USMC Marina (4 min walk) has kayaks and boats available for rent. The beautiful Medal of Honor Golf Course at Marine Corps Quantico is available to the public for use and is a 5 minute drive from the home, tee time reservations are recommended. ---------- Shared Washer & Dryer with limited *daytime only* hours (due to apartment above) available for complimentary use for guests to use in the garage for stays of 3 nights or more. Access is not permitted in the remainder of garage area.
