The Coastal Cedar Sanctuary offers a true retreat from regular life. Tucked in the heart of Rockaway Beach, you'll find yourself in a quiet, local neighborhood with chirping birds & wild deer. The home is an easy walk to the beach, restaurants & boutiques. Interior decor is modern boho spa vibes with an earth tone pallet and a clean finish. The real treat is behind the home where you'll find a mosaic deck, relaxing hot tub, and a highly coveted barrel sauna nestled among the cedars. This home is a brand new, 2021, construction. It features 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with about 1600 square feet of indoor living space and a lovely outdoor living space. It has an open concept living space with a lovely, bright kitchen with marble countertops, a breakfast bar, a full sized refrigerator, an electric stove, and a dishwasher. It is well stocked with more than enough dishes, cookware, herbs and spices, a blender, a crockpot and utensils. The dining room seats 8 and we stock everything for a lovely communal meal such as placemats, table runners, cloth napkins and matching dinnerware. The living room boasts a leather couch, smart tv with Apple tv device, and pellet stove for those windy coastal nights. Upstairs, you'll find an office space in the loft and a huge primary suite. It boasts a king sized bed, electric fireplace, and full bathroom with stand up tiled shower and water closet. There is a slider out to our 2nd story yoga deck (or just a lovely outdoor space to enjoy the morning light). The other two bedrooms are on the main level. One queen bedroom, with a slider to the back deck, and a bunk room with 4 single beds comfortable enough for adults. The main level bathroom is spacious, includes a bathtub and a closet for the washer and dryer set. We are stocked up with adult games, adult books, kids books, a few kids toys, and beach gear. Our internet is faster than our service in Portland! It's a really special, warm and modern house and the real treat is behind the home! A stunning mosaic deck, gas grill, hot tub, barrel sauna, dining table (that also seats 8) and a lounge area await. Visit our sanctuary with your feminine friends for a spa weekend. Hunker down here on a stormy coastal evening reading a book with your love. Bring your fishing buddies and load up on salmon and crab. Stay with family friends and explore the coastline with the kids. We live in Portland full time but are available by phone, text or email and have boots on the ground in and around Rockaway to help us if anything should come up. Rockaway Beach is a small, sleepy, charming beach town less than 2 hours from Portland. It's sandwiched between Tillamook Bay and Nehalem Bay, both of which you can easily access for fishing, crabbing and kayaking. The towns around both bays are fun to explore as well and are all less than 20 minutes drive. Bay City, Garibaldi, Wheeler and Nehalem all have their own special character, restaurants and shops. Rockaway itself is divided by Hwy 101 and S Nehalem (near the caboose visitor center). Anything with a North in the address is North of the Caboose and anything with South address is South of it. Nearly all the restaurants and shops are directly on Hwy 101 and are pretty easy to find. You can access the beach all along town and if you're walking from the house you can either take S 2nd or S Nehalem over. There are a few lakes in town that people like to canoe and kayak in with the most popular being Lake Lytle (North of us). Rockaway is extremely walkable. Nearly every restaurant and shop can be accessed by foot except a few places we like on the North end of town like Littoral. Biking would be nice and easy too but there is a slight hill up to the house when you are heading East. I believe there is ONE Uber car in Tillamook so I wouldn't count on hiring transportation. The house does not have air conditioning. It's very rare on Oregon coast to have a/c because it rarely gets above 70 degrees. There is a ceiling fan in the communal living area and a tower fan for each bedroom but you might not even need those. We have partnered with a local massage therapist that will bring her table to the house and set it upstairs. Her massages are divine! Ask me for more details to book in advance.
