The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt. Crested Butte, a 3-minute walk from the Red Lady Express lift and the base-area shops and restaurants. Historic downtown Crested Butte and Elk Avenue — known for art galleries, breweries, and dining — are 6 minutes away by car or the complimentary town shuttle. The area is a four-season destination: world-class skiing and snowboarding in winter, and hiking, mountain biking, and rafting in summer, with major trailheads 5–25 minutes from the door. Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 40-minute drive. Most guests bring a car — there's a free on-site lot with EV charging. You can also ride the free town shuttle, which runs to downtown Crested Butte about every 15 minutes. The lifts are a 3-minute walk, so you can leave the car parked all weekend if you like.
