Let the river take your stress away. Or the hot tub. Or deer at play. This is Goose Rock Cabin, an atypical cabin once owned by a master craftsman—the loft bedroom a study in handmade artistry. Outside, nature's design is flawless. Blue heron fish our waters—you can too—song birds pop by to remind you there's more to life than the grind. Forget your app, open the windows and sleep like a baby to rambling river sounds that run 24/7. Come, we'll leave an apple pie in the freezer for you:) You'll find our land is wooded and, just across the river, you'll see two plots of undeveloped forest where families of deer play. Next to it? A cabin that's easy on the eyes. Inside our cabin, you'll find spots to congregate as well as escape. The bedrooms (all have high thread count cotton linens) and are set up like this: KING is outfitted with romantic LED cedar headboard, a half bath that drives woodworkers mad with inspiration, and a small Roku TV. KING in the main floor master with Pella crank-out picture windows, full bath, office space, and large Roku TV. QUEEN suite is free of TVs, have a soft quilt , and an adjoining full bathroom, complete with sink countertop made from river rock pulled just a few feet away in our beloved Coosawattee. There's a large Roku TV in the common area. Coosawattee River Resort is a gated community that consists of over 5,500 acres. Amenities offered within the community include parks, tennis courts, a rec center with an indoor pool, and more. Note that all these amenities are now included with our $60 Resort Fee for up to 8 adults and unlimited kids! Two Guest Cards are provided at the cabin with each card admitting up to 4 adults to any of the facilities. Any kids must always be accompanied by adults. Please note that Guests are responsible for making certain the cards are returned to the cabin at the end of their stay. Any lost or missing cards will result in a $25 replacement fee. This unique Octagon Cabin offers a wide view of the river located in a gated community with lots of wildlife as neighbors—geese families, blue heron, kingfishers, & the bald eagle pop in to say hello. If you're lucky, you'll see our otter. P.S.: Our human neighbors are lovely too. ; ) You'll get to the house within a few minutes from the gate after a drive on a windy paved roads (you'll definitely need to stay the posted 10 MPH) until the last few feet. Once you hit the gravel road (just past the speed limit signs), you'll see us. Coosawatte Amenity Center: The passes are included in your Airbnb payment. They will be located on the table in the kitchen. 1 pass per 4 adults. If your reservation is only 4 adults, you will get 1 pass. Unlimited number of kids can be admitted per pass. PARKING: You'll easily park 3 cars—1 on the parking pad at the road, 2 in the half circle driveway that leads down to the cabin. See our drone shot for a visual. GETTING AROUND: We're in a resort with windy roads. If you're interested in checking out their amenities (pools, putt-putt, parks, game room) you'll have to drive. To set expectations: 1) We have neighbors (who are very sweet) and ask that you respect the folks who live in on our slice of heaven full time. 2) Geese are wild here and swim away when they see humans. If you want to feed them, try cabbage, cauliflower, and tangerines. DO NOT put out bread, crackers, popcorn, or other high-carb food. They will get sick. 3) Our vintage pinball machine ('72) sits in an unfinished laundry room with old street signs and our washer/dryer. There's a giant ottoman waiting for you too. 4) There is one small step up to get into the house. You'll take rail tie stairs to go down to the lower-level deck and river. 5) There's no cable but our wifi is good so conference calls are no problem at Goose Rock. 6) 4 people can fit comfortably in our hot tub. 7) We have firewood to burn in our fire pit. If you go to Ingles for groceries, ask for paper bags to reuse as kindling.
