Welcome to Ivy Cottage, our beautifully renovated thatched hideaway in Devon! Set in the charming village of Ilsington, you will have everything you need for a cosy stay. Curl up with Netflix in front of the log fire, or head around the corner for a traditional ale in the old village pub. If you are feeling more adventurous, Incredible Dartmoor is on your doorstep. Drive out to see the rugged tors and the famous moorland ponies, and don't forget to stop for a traditional Devonshire cream tea! The space What our guests have told us they loved: -Brand new stylish and cosy renovation of an 18th century thatched cottage -5 star cleanliness -5 star communication. We are always available on the airbnb App to answer your questions or help with your trip planning! -Perfect Dartmoor village location, 1 minute walk to traditional country village pub, 2 minutes walk to well stocked village shop. -Situated right next to St Michaels, a 15th century historic village church with an old church bell that chimes every hour on the hour, and a fascinating church graveyard. On Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings you will be treated to the full church bells, as the village ringers will up in the bell tower. You would be very welcome to join Sunday church service. -Welcome basket -Log burner. We provide a voucher for the village shop (2 minutes walk) so you can buy logs for your first night.(NB During extremely hot weather or prolonged periods of dry summer weather, the log burner should not be used for thatched roof fire safety) -Bespoke cottage guide that we have written ourselves. It has all of our favourite local places to visit, and eat and drink. We will email you this guide after booking so you can plan ahead! - Cafetière and enough ground coffee for a welcome drink after your journey -Teabags and milk for a welcome drink after your journey -Brita water filter -Scottish Fine Soaps hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided -65'' TV with Netflix and Prime Video for movie night -Alexa Smart speakers with unlimited song library, just ask them to play whatever you want -Relaxing rolltop bath -Nook bed with TV and Netflix for the kids -6 pairs of welly boots available for country walks -Large selection of fiction/non-fiction, board games and walking guides -Mothercare high chair and Graco travel cot (we don't provide travel cot sheets/infant bedding) -Washing machine, tumble drier + dishwasher We have completely renovated and restored our beloved cottage. It took over 1 year, but we think you will agree It was worth it! The cottage can accommodate up to 6 people. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms (1 King Bed, 1 Double Bed, 2 Single Beds). One of the single beds in the twin room is a cool little raised hideaway bed! This nook is equipped with a TV, with Netflix + Prime Video to keep the little ones happy. The bathroom features a large shower, delightful roll top bath, and handy anti-fog mirror. Downstairs there is a stylish log burner to keep you toasty. The cottage has full central heating. There is a large 65’’ TV in the lounge with Netflix + Prime Video for watching your favourite movie in front of the fire. Additionally there is a TV in the dining room should you wish to catch up on the news with your morning coffee. The kitchen is well equipped with a Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, Induction Hob and Oven. Why not spend an afternoon baking? For those rainy days there is a huge library of books on the local area. We also have a lot of fiction/non-fiction books, and a great collection of board games. There’s nothing better than winning at Scrabble as you sip tea during a downpour! Other things to note Ilsington is a beautiful village, and incredible location for exploring Dartmoor National Park and South Devon! We are located a convenient 30 minutes drive from the city of Exeter. If you have a wedding or graduation in Exeter, please do not make a reservation with us, and then rate us 4 stars for location (yes, this has happened!). Also please note that some of these same 5 star reviews rated us 4 stars for 'Value'! Before booking, please recognise that 'Value' is different to 'Price'. Value refers to the price you pay, and what you get for that price. We provide a lot in terms of accommodation quality, 5 star amenities and service, and space and beds available. We go the extra mile for our guests in every possible area. We all wish the 'Price' of things in life was less, but this is not the same as 'Value'.
