This well presented, detached conversion was once the milking parlour on the farm. Take the footpath at the side of the cottage leading to woodland and a nature reserve. Alternatively, try your hand at trout fishing at Spring Hill Trout Waters across the track and catch supper. Nature lovers will also enjoy Brenchley Wood Nature Reserve. There are many National Trust properties in the area, including Knowle House at Sevenoaks where the film ‘Pirate of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides’ was filmed. Chartwell, which is home to the late Winston Churchill and his paintings; Batemans, where Rudyard Kipling grew up; and Ightham Mote, a fine example of a moated 14th-century manor house. Explore castles including Bodiam, vineyards and sample some very fine wines; gardens including the masterpiece at Sissinghurst created by Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicholson. Good rail connections from Paddock Wood to London can be reached in 50 minutes. Alternatively, head to Ashford and take the train to Paris in time for drinks. The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and The Pantiles are less than 3 miles away. The coast at Hastings is approximately 40 minutes. Golf 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
