Built in 1878 and situated within the heart of the Macedon Ranges. This lovely historic red brick building was built in the 1880's as a schoolhouse for the local communities and is located a few minutes out of the township of Woodend. The space This lovely historic red brick building was built in the 1880's as a schoolhouse for the local communities. It has four separate rooms, each with high vaulted ceilings and plenty of old world charm. Enter into the Schoolhouse via a foyer where you can hang your coats and park your shoes. Go through to the spacious lounge and dining rooms with comfy couches and formal dining area. The original open log fireplace adds to overall ambiance. Wood is supplied for the first night only after which you may purchase additional either from us or the local hardware or supermarket. There is alternative gas fire heating if you do not want an open fire. A modern kitchenette leads off the formal dining area. It is equipped with double sink and prep bench space. No oven, but you can cook or re heat in electric frypan supplied. There is a medium size fridge plus microwave, egg poacher, toaster, electric jug as well as supplies of fresh plunger coffee, instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate, herb tea, biscuits, salt pepper sugar and milk. You will find all the cutlery, sharp knives, dinner plates, cups, bowls, microwave heating dishes and glassware you need to serve up your meals. Or you may wish to bring pre prepared meals which you can re heat. Bedroom is for couples and has a queen bed, beautiful linen, electric blankets, side tables and lamps. There is a separate dressing room with dressing table and mirror, hanging space and reading divan. The ensuite bathroom is located off the dressing room Re wood for fire. We supply enough for first night only. Wood and Kindling Supplies are available locally in Woodend township at Coles or local Hardware. You may also purchase from the property. Guests are welcome to enjoy the beautiful two acres of gardens that surround the property. Note that owners live on the property in separate accommodation. Other things to note FIREWOOD Supplies of wood and kindling may be purchased from nearby hardware store or local service station. We supply paper and firelighters and matches and enough wood for first night. There is a very effective instantaneous gas fire in your lounge dining room which will keep you very snug if you do not want an open fire. KITCHEN. Double sink, bench prep space, dishwasher, sandwich maker, toaster, good size fridge, electric jug and electric frypan, egg poacher, rice cooker. Note . There is no oven. Basic condiments such as milk , salt pepper, oil and sugar are supplied as well as a big selection of bowls/plates,cutlery, glasses etc Sharp knives, chopping boards. If you want to eat out, the local pubs and restaurants are less than 10 mins away. BBQ available on request. Sorry no pets.
