Large, Warm and Luxurious 5* Peak District Barn

High Ridge Barn is architect designed and recently renovated throughout to provide luxurious modern and comfortable self-catering accommodation with superb views across Swythamley valley. The Barn has dog-secure fenced gardens. There’s a large wood-fired outdoor sauna (£40 per sauna), BBQs, and a dog grooming cabin. Up to 4 dogs are welcome (dog fees apply.) Perfectly located for great hikes, and now only 13 miles from the new Lapland Experience. LGBTQ+ guests are welcome at High Ridge Barn. The space The enormous double-height barn has 4 double bedrooms sleeping up to 8 people plus babes in arms, 2 of which can be arranged as large singles or super king sized beds. 3 bathrooms mean no queues for the loo! The living/dining room with Scandi log-burner leads directly from the new high-end kitchen equipped with Neff appliances and is so well-equipped our guests tell us we have things here they didn’t know they needed! Everything from super-fast broadband to 1,000 thread bed linen to fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers and logs down to an oyster shucker – High Ridge Barn has it all. Our outdoor Scandi wood-fired sauna is just the thing to help you decompress on your hols or ease those aching limbs after a long day out walking. If you've never tried a sauna, no problem, we'll explain how everything works. We light the sauna for you, bring it up to operating temperature, and mix your choice of sauna essence. There's no need to pack anything extra either, we provided hammam towels, flip-flops, a bucket and ladle and essential oils to enhance the sauna effect, and robes for making your way from the Barn to the sauna. All you need to do is walk in and enjoy. The sauna pod is made of spruce, with two sections inside. The "hot" area has bench space for two people, with a Harvia wood-burning stove and a thermometer and sand timer for getting things just right. Next to the hot area is a changing room with a table and bench and hooks for robes. This sauna has LED lighting, so you can still sauna on a dark winter's evening. At the front of the pod is a table and two small seats for cooling off. Guest access The Barn has secure off-road gravelled parking for at least 5 vehicles. EVs are welcome and we have a Zappi 7kW charger with Type II tether. Power used from our solar or battery is free, any power taken from the grid is charged at cost. There is no public transportation nearby, so your own transport is essential. Other things to note We welcome dogs at High Ridge Barn. Our gardens are private and secure so your dogs can run and sniff safely and freely. There is also a dog grooming cabin with hot shower, scissor-lift bath and pet-friendly hairdryer for after those long muddy walks. We even provide organic dog shampoo, towels, combs and brushes. We charge £35 per dog / per stay for the first dog, and £25 per dog thereafter, to cover "deep-cleaning" and laundering of sofa covers etc. Please note that charges for dogs apply whether they are staying overnight or visiting for the day. Please note that on the ground floor there are several steps: there are two steps from the entrance hall into the kitchen/dining area, a step between the dining area and the living area, two steps into the shower/bathroom area, and two steps from one of the ground floor bedrooms into the living area. This may make it unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Please ask us before booking if you are not sure.
