The house is well situated for exploring both the North York Moors National Park and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. Bridle paths and cycle tracks pass close by the property, with the tumbling waters of the River Esk running through the village. Glaisdale boasts a village shop with small post office, a butcher’s shop and a friendly local pub with adjoining cafe. Explore the many pretty villages tucked away deep in the valleys. The ancient seaport of Whitby, just 8 miles away, has a bustling harbour, the abbey ruins and a pretty marina. Whitby is known for its connections with Captain James Cook and boasts a 3-mile stretch of sandy beach, perfect for a relaxing day at the seaside. Visit smugglers’ coves at Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick Bay, both within a short drive, or take a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors steam train based at Grosmont.
