Casa El Balcón was built in 1800 and lies in a unique setting: a beautifully picturesque eco plantation with hundreds of fruit trees (mainly oranges, lemons and grapefruit, but also plums, peaches, avocados and almonds – the flowering period of the almond trees is a spectacular sight!). The cottage has a balcony from which you can see the fruit farm and sometimes, on clear days, the mountains and sea beyond. The original structure of Casa El Balcón, its thick stone walls, timber furnishings and lovely hipped roof all remain intact. The cottage was renovated in 2011 and is now completely accessible for people with disabilities (including wheelchair users). Its quiet location offers guests a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere in which to relax. Its two terraces are ideal spots to simply rest and soak up the sun. The owners of Finca Ayala work on the fruit farm and teach silk painting. Agriculture has been carried out on the farm for various centuries. Today Finca Ayala is the largest specialised eco farm in Gran Canaria. There are many pretty walks on the farm and in the vicinity. Guests can even take part in the farm work if desired. The plantation offers wonderful views of the surrounding scenery. In short, at Casa El Balcón you are guaranteed an intimate, peaceful atmosphere in a nature haven.
