In a preserved and authentic area, at the crossroads of the departments of Gard, Lozère and Ardèche, your stay at the 4-star CASTAGNERE cottage will allow you to discover the Cévennes. Located in the Cévennes National Park, at the foot of Mont Lozère, close to the river (private access) and hiking trails (GRP4), the CASTAGNERE 4* gite has been restored by combining tradition and modernity (classified 4*) and promoting responsible tourism (labeled "Esprit Parc National"). The space The 4-star CASTAGNERE cottage will be the ideal place to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature, in an old 13th century farm surrounded by 20 hectares of meadows, chestnut groves and forests. Its layout will allow you to fully enjoy the surrounding nature (large shaded terrace in front of the door with deckchairs and barbecue) and its equipment will make your life easier (air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, ceramic hob, multifunctional oven, espresso machine, refrigerator/freezer, international channels...). The cottage is eco-responsible: self-production of electricity, rainwater harvesting, reinforced insulation of roofs and frames, natural ventilation, selective waste sorting, local supply, rational use of natural resources, electric vehicle, planting of new trees every year... Pets are welcome. Rental for a week or more (decreasing rate from 2 consecutive weeks) from Saturday after 4 p.m. to the following Saturday before 10 a.m. Dates other than those on the calendar may be available. Other things to note Your stay at the Castagnère en Cévennes cottage will be an opportunity to discover the Cévennes culture. You will enjoy a visit to the Castagnère farmhouse and will be able to better understand the life of the Cévennes over the centuries (chestnut tree, silkworm breeding, religious wars, the Beast of Gévaudan...). Your host will be happy to share with you their favorite hikes, the markets not to be missed, the richness of the heritage or the addresses of local producers. The Castagnère en Cévennes cottage, with exposed stones and beams, will take you away from it all and help you to relax. You will have the rivers to yourself (swimming, trout fishing, gold panning, etc.), and the hikes are as numerous as they are varied with breathtaking views! The beds will be made upon your arrival, shower sheets and bath mats available in the shower room. A security deposit of €400 will be requested upon arrival and returned upon departure if there is no problem in the gite and if the cleaning is done correctly (optional package of €75).
