The neighborhood is the best, encapsulated in the prestigious and older section of "Montserrat" centrally located, close to everything. We are in the transitioning part to the historic neighborhood of "San Telmo" the Antique and "Tango district" close to amazing restaurants, pop-up art galleries, late night bars all walking distance with a bohemian vibe. On Sundays is the must see Antique Fair. Going north crossing Avenida Belgrano the street is the 'Diagonal Sur" an artery to the historical "Micro-Centro' or "Downtown Business District" walking distance to Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Calle Florida ( famous shopping district ). A few blocks down to the river to the East is " Rio de la Plata" on the waterfront ( you can see the river from the balcony on the right ) you will find the trendy restaurant scene of "Puerto Madero". Less than a block away West ( Piedras street to the left from our apartment ) is one of the best Patisserie in Buenos Aires, "La Mariposa". Catty-corner is the best underground metro system in the city, the "Subte" ( Subterranean Metro) that will take you to any place in the City and back. Built in 1913 Making it the first underground railway in Latin America, the 13 Th in the World with the Madrid metro opening 5 years later in 1919. If you keep going west 2 more blocks you will encounter Avenida 9 de Julio " The Widest Avenue in the World" where you can walk your heart out until you get to the Obelisk and pass the Teatro Colon ranked the third best Opera house in the World. its an amazing experience to walk the city. The best is to walk around the city, if you have to be in other parts of the city Taxis are at your doorstep. The metro "SUBTE" system is at the left of the building. If you want to do a bus city tour there's a few that can take you around. I would ask at the Intercontinental hotel a couple of blocks from our apartment. They also have American breakfast and is open to the public. Since the Building is located in the "Micro-Centro" " Downtown" area, it has a few tenants most of them are offices that after 6 pm the building is almost empty and becomes quiet, the weekends are super quiet with no traffic and less people in the building, you will enjoy your stay.
