A real hidden gem right on the sea front, with a south facing balcony that makes the most of this beautiful setting with far reaching views over Plymouth sound and Drakes Island, it is steeped in Naval history. Whether you're visiting Plymouth for a relaxing short break, or a more energetic trip, you will be spoilt for choice paddle boarding, kayaking, or swimming. It is a 2 minute walk from Royal William yard named ‘unmissable attraction'. 10 minutes to the city centre, Hoe & Barbican. The space A stone built cottage built circa 1840s which originally served officers of the Royal Navy working in the adjacent Royal William Yard, a former RN victualling site, which is now a flourishing pedestrianised area with a plethora of bistros and restaurants. The cottage has two beautiful bedrooms, the main having a balcony overlooking Plymouth Sound. Two bathrooms, and well equipped kitchen, dinning room and a very comfortable and cosy lounge with a beautiful open fireplace available for use on chillier evenings; comfy leather sofas and unique furniture add to the ambiance to be enjoyed by all. Out the front is a well established lawned garden with a variety of shrubs and lavender bushes, with a coal BBQ for your use. Immediately beyond the cottage sits the amazing vista of the famous Plymouth sound. Guest access The property is a 2 minute walk from Royal William Yard, named an ‘unmissable attraction by Lonely Planet and home to a stunning range of restaurants, bars and galleries and just 10 minutes walk/2 minute drive into the city's shopping centre. Literally round the corner is the Cremyll Ferry Take a trip on the historic foot ferry from Stonehouse to The Rame Peninsula, known as, Cornwall’s forgotten corner. Loved for centuries by all who have travelled on her, the Cremyll Ferry is one of Plymouth’s true gems and provides a gateway to discover this beautiful part of the South West and Mount Edgecombe Country park. The cottage is part of a conservation area and ideal for exploring wildlife, wild flowers and the rocky shoreline. An added bonus is the use of our two sit on top kayaks which also have detachable wheels, literally out the door and a short walk and you’re in the water!!! Life preservers for adults and kids provided. There’s ample private parking available for residents at front of cottage. Other things to note It has a balcony of the main bedroom which has far reaching sea views. From April 2025 through to August/September 2025, there will be a slight detour to the access point to the cottages due to reallocation of the public parking area nearby, it will be clearly sign posted and shouldn’t impact arrival/departure. The works area is over to the west near an old reservoir which once supplied the RWY with water, and is to be repurposed into further parking for the RWY. Any works will take place between 0800-1700 on week days only, again this should not impact your stay.
