At Smens Gårdar we are all about bespoke group stays and celebrations. The concept was created from our passion for horses, the great outdoors, local organic food, beautiful old houses and the planning of tailored get togethers and celebrations. Only two hours north of Stockholm you find Smens Hästgård, a boutique Bed & Box offering set in the beautiful village of Fornby, in Southern Dalarna. The large house from 1889 comfortably hosts your private party of up to 12 guests. The large house offers 4 large double bedrooms, 3 single bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen diner and a large double reception room with a fire place. In the garden you find a hot tub bookable for exclusive use with a fantastic view over the horse fields and valley beyond. A country house enjoyed by riders and non-riders alike, Smens Hästgård is a place to deepen your connection and knowledge of horses or to simply relax with friends and colleagues. We run a range of workshops and events throughout the year with hand-picked horse specialists from a variety of disciplines. Bring your own horse or enjoy our fantastic horses that roam the paddock paradise at Smens. Hästgården also welcomes many non equine events that benefit from the atmosphere of the farm and its proximity to nature. Our 600 sq metre hay barn has hosted many fantastic events and bespoke celebrations! We offer catering and tailored planning of your event and activities and always work together with our customer to create something out of the ordinary. We have a menu of activities that we can share with our guests and also tailor specific events such as proposals, hen parties and anniversaries in close collaboration with your wishes. Guest access All of our guests are welcome to full access of our entire house and grounds. This includes the hot tub (at extra charge) located at the end of the garden toward the horse paddock paradise. Other things to note Give yourselves time to cook a big family meal (better yet let us cook it for you) and sit in the garden as the horses gallop round and the deer cross the valley. There is no time like family time. During your stay we offer the following as extras to ensure you have a great stay: - Breakfast, lunch & dinner (in any order or preference you can think of) - Forest picnics with local organic ingredients -Midsummers at Smens - celebrate midsummers in the home county of this Swedish tradition - Yoga classes in the old barn or underneath the birch trees - Horse riding in the forest on our own beautiful horse - Bicycle hire - Canoeing on unspoilt waterways - Nordic Game Viewing (deer, elk, wild boar and birds of prey) - Dining in the forest - we cook up a feast on produce from the forest and serve it underneath the trees by candlelight - Crayfish parties underneath the midnight sun
