Redwood Getaway - Modern, Spacious, and Private

Welcome! You’ll be staying in the ground floor of our split level home that is nestled amongst the redwoods but still close to the coast. The apartment is accessed via a separate private entrance on the ground floor.. This private space is ideal as a home base for exploring the amazing Redwood Coast. The spacious yard with play equipment makes it a fun stay for families and the well appointed interior is comfortable for visiting professionals. The space We are situated between the cities of Arcata and Eureka, with easy access to any necessary amenities and equidistant from Avenue of the Giants and Redwood National and State Parks. The unit affords easy access to quiet nature hikes within walking distance, though the last few hundred feet to/from our home are on a STEEP gravel road. Cafes, downtown plaza, and grocery stores, etc, are located within a short drive (~10 minutes). Bedroom: one king bed one twin daybed (default set up is as a couch). Living Area: sitting area television with an Apple tv (Netflix, Disney+ & Prime Video) kitchenette (no oven or cooktop) dining area thermostatically controlled electric fireplace Bathroom: walk in shower full sized washer/dryer. Outdoors: Guest are free to enjoy the lawn, lower patio/deck, open garden/yard space below, and the rugged trail to the beautiful creek on Echo Lane Important Rules: We do not permit smoking or vaping of any kind on the property, indoors or outdoors. No pets (unfortunately there are no exceptions allowed due to a family member’s severe allergy) Guest access Guests are welcome to use all outdoor spaces with the exception of the upper deck. Guests should park in designated space next to garage with a maximum of two vehicles, please. Other things to note The guest unit is located underneath the bedrooms of the main house. I invested heavily in ceiling insulation, gapped drywall, etc. to reduce noise transfer between the spaces. In addition, we do our best to minimize our noise when guests are present. That being said, some noise does travel between the two living areas. The kitchenette is set up for light prep with a microwave, instant pot, blender, pour over coffee cone, and a mini refrigerator (no freezer). Utensils, dishes, knives & cutting board, cups, and wine glasses are provided. The property is equipped with video security cameras around the outside of the building and a smart video doorbell. There are no cameras in the guest suite or outside cameras that capture video inside the guest suite. Overnight level 2 EV charging is available for a fee that covers electricity usage plus 10% for equipment upkeep and Airbnb transaction fees. A charging report will be sent with the invoice via the Airbnb app. There is children’s play equipment on the lawn adjacent to the guest suite (full size trampoline and a swing) that guests (adults too!) are welcome to use. The person limit is set to 3. We can accommodate 2 adults plus children, but the space is not appropriate for 3 adults AND children. Upon request, I will consider stays over 7 days. For longer stays I require a weekly cleaning that includes replacing all linens. Guest are responsible for the weekly cleaning fee of $50/week.
