Welcome to our hideaway in Dalarna, only 2 hours north of Stockholm yet in the middle of nature. The cross country ski tracks & mountain bike trails are less than 5 minutes away. The forest is on your doorstep and the lake less than a minute’s walk away. Our guests can enjoy the same service as we are known for at Smens Hästgård - order in fresh organic produce for your stay and let us pre stock the fridge, book in for dinner at the castle 1.5 km away or rent ice skates/bikes. Welcome! The space Gammelgården was built in the mid 1800's and retains its original charm and stature as the largest house in the tiny village of Brattfors. There are 4 generous bedrooms over two floors, with an additional smaller adjoining twin bedroom downstairs and wonderful drawing rooms on each floor - with an impressive seven original fireplaces throughout the house (as well as a brand new heating system). The high speed fibre internet in the house brings modern comfort and ability to work and stay connected for those who wish. Alternatively, leave your phone in the basket at the front door and forget about it during your stay. The garden surrounding the property is a perfect space for late dinners on summers evenings or reading a book in the hammock. Less than a minutes stroll and you are at the damms and the forest is all around you. Should the rain start to pour you can always continue the crayfish party in the gatehouse. It doesn't get more Swedish than this! Guest access As a guest at Gammelgården you have exclusive access to the house and garden and shared access to all the forest and lakes that surround you. Enjoy
