Finally, back on AirBnb after more than 4 years, this is your chance to stay in this truly special home. This adorable 1930's New Mexican style adobe home is part of the Old Town historic district of Albuquerque. Perfectly romantic, this traditional casa is walkable to the center of Old Town Plaza, 5 museums, 30+ restaurants, shopping, parks, and more! The space Our wonderful little home was built by hand in 1932 in the traditional New Mexican Adobe style. Thick walls made of baked earth (adobe) then coated with stucco and topped with a flat roof. This is the basis of construction unique to New Mexico and the southwest. Full of character, with brick floors, uneven exposed ceiling beams, 18in thick walls, and contrasted with an updated bathroom. This home is in the historic Old Town District and cannot be externally modified due to its historical nature, yet the interior does not lack any of the modern amenities. A perfect blend of old-century charm and modern comfort. Important Note: Our quirky home has 1-2 steps going from each room to another. If you are uncomfortable or struggle with steps then this may not be the home for you. You can see the steps in a few of the pictures. Features: * Comfy Queen Tempur Pedic memory foam bed * Wood-burning indoor fireplace with all accessories. Extra wood and firestarters are available. * Brand new heat pump HVAC units that keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. * Living room with sofa, Smart TV, fireplace, and bookshelf with games & plenty to read. * Three separate private dining areas: Indoor table for two that expands to seat 4, outdoor patio with a small table for drinks, outdoor pergola with latillas casting dappled shade over a picnic table with seating for 6. Guest access You will have access to everything! The whole house and everything that is in it is available to you along with everything outside including our covered portál with small breakfast table and chairs, our self-built pergola with New Mexican latillas and vigas covering a picnic table that seats 6 and a solar-powered fan, and lastly our stunning secret garden that is wonderfully overgrown with wild New Mexican plants with blooms by the thousands 3 seasons of the year. KITCHEN: The kitchen is stocked full of all the kitchen essentials and bakeware, pots, pans, etc. that one could possibly need. BIKES & HELMETS: We have two bikes in great condition as so much is bike-able from our home. We also have two helmets available (one medium on XL) that we highly recommend you use. TESLA WALL CHARGER: We have a Gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger where you can charge your Tesla at the fastest speeds possible in a home set-up, about 45 miles per hour of charging. If you have a Tesla (or another electric vehicle with your own adapter) then this is free for you to use! Please be respectful of use. Other things to note Create some memories, take life in, explore, and create your own adventure that can be found right outside the front door. Also, keep in mind that the house was built by hand in the 1930's. Thus there are some quirks like uneven brick floors, steps in and out of each room, and our shower is on the small side, all of which add to the charm. Pet Policy: We love your furry friends, but we also want to keep the space beautiful and clean for other guests. - There will be an additional $50 cleaning fee per pet. Let us know beforehand if you are bringing a pet and we tack on the additional cleaning fee. - No more than two pets - No pets over 50 lbs - Clean up after your pet (slobber, dog waste, etc. waste bags are provided) - To protect the beautiful backyard, please do not allow your dog to dig. If there is any damage caused by pets (including digging) we will request that the damage be reimbursed.
