Adorable Country Cottage in the heart of Woodstock

The Cottage on Main is located in the heart of historic downtown Woodstock. Within walking distance to shops, restaurants and historic sites. Located in the Center of Shenandoah County, near the Shenandoah River & Blue Ridge Mountains you will have plenty of adventures ahead of you. Wondering the streets of town, visit local merchants, bike country roads, float the river, hiking, scenic views, tasting the local beverages or relax with a picnic in the park. Many community events all year. The space This is a beautiful historic cottage which has been up dated. The cottage is a quaint space with a low authentic tin ceiling down stairs. The old fashion narrow slightly steep stairs that lead up to the bedroom like in your grandmothers house. As you enter the cottage you can hang your coats and place your shoes on the entry hall tree. The original tin ceiling and the cozy TV nook welcome you. The kitchenette has all you need to start your day or provides you a place to make snacks for your adventures. The space was updated in 2021 with two new mini split units to provide you the perfect temperature for your stay. Additionally, the bathroom was added to the space and will provide you the opportunity to take a relaxing shower - soak or wash off the dust from your amazing adventures. As you head upstairs to the bedroom you will notice a reading nook, a work area with desk and a well appointed queen size bed. This space provides you the perfect opportunity to rest, recharge and reconnect during your stay. The space is decorated with local art, we provide resources guides for the area and helpful amenities to make your stay special. We do have Security cameras on the outside of the Cottage and the House for your security. There are NO cameras inside of the Cottage for your privacy. Guest access The cottage is located directly next to the off street parking that is provided behind the main house. This area is accessed by Issac Alley, which is a gravel drive off of Main Street/Rt. 11. We will provide the entry code the day of your arrival. Walking, biking and local transit provide easy access to the area. Other things to note There are a number of local wildlife visitors that you may see during your stay. Please refrain from keeping food outside and feeding them. This is an historic property so the ground and walk way may be unlevel so please watch your step. The stairs that lead to the bedroom are like your Grandma's stairs so they are narrow and slightly steep. If you are taller than 5 '7 you will need to watch your head and may have to duck to get up the stairs so again please be careful and note that taller folks may not be as comfortable and us short and build for comfort and durability people LOL!.
