Casa Buena Vista

Property is back after being offline for a long term rental. Welcome to Casa Buena Vista: Our home has an open floor plan with beautiful views of ocean. The front facing windows draw you immediately, the invitation to sit on the porch rockers should not be ignored. You will also enjoy a large back patio with jungle views, a gazebo (pool table, hammock, and dominos table), and splash pool. The space There is a large master bedroom with ensuite bath and ac. It has a double bed. The two additional guest rooms; one has a queen and the other a full bed. The home is considered modern by local standards. There are high ceilings, two seating areas, a dining room table that seats 8, and a kitchen with an island, gas stove, a dishwasher, and microwave. We also have plenty of parking and an enclosed single-car garage. Note: we have two friendly cats on property. Guest access Our slice of paradise sits on 2 acres and is located near a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. We love the area for it's friendly mix of locals and expats, the calm and tranquil surroundings, and the beautiful natural features nearby (beaches, mangroves, waterfalls, caves, cenotes). We are 10 minutes from the stunning Playa Grande where you can enjoy a locally caught and prepared meal, and 5-25 minutes from countless other beaches. The Nearest Airports are Samana (AZS) 1 hour, Puerto Plata (POP) 2 hours or Santo Domingo (SDQ) 2.5 hours and there are a few others depending on where you are traveling from. We have recommendations for airport transfers, car rentals, etc. Other things to note We are a family of four that have eight properties, five of which are long-term rentals. We have exchanged our primary home(s) and have done over 200 reciprocal swaps and guest point exchanges over the last 8 years with all 5-star reviews. Here is the latest one for our Dominican home: This was a last minute exchange/connection due to the cancellation from our original hosts. Katie made it possible in a record time with cristal clear communication. All tips and recommendations for our stay were valuable, and her 'house rules' were not only very precise and helpful but also the warmest and the most welcoming, ever. A private house on a hill, a clean, airy and peaceful home surrounded by a lush garden, guarded by their 2 friendly cats whose company made our 5 1/2 year old daughter very happy. A gated property but not feeling apart from this friendly area (local village as well as Cabrera), easy to go around with the guagua (local minibus)-main road 7mn walk away- or with a rental car (Ramon & Keysi Rent Car were fair and friendly, we also totally recommend them). Local fruit markets... supermarkets... daily life easy to organize. Best grilled fish on the best beach of our 3 weeks journey: Playa Grande. And right by it, the most scenic one: Playa Preciosa. Of course the house has all you need, drinkable water included, which we were grateful for, even if we came ready with our own. Beach towels and their great beach boomrang was a fun plus! Master bedroom ensuite, with its couch/bed for our daughter was very comfortable, with large bay windows to wake up to the beautiful greenery. But most of our time at the house was spent on the porch, looking over the garden, at the birds, the ocean, the storms and the rainbows. The perfect place to also watch the rising sun while doing yoga (or drinking coffee says Ante :-) and the stars at night, sipping local Brugal Leyenda rhum and hearing bachata in the distance.
