Make lasting summer memories at this fabulous lakefront cottage on the Portage/Pinckney Chain of Lakes. Recently renovated down to the studs with top of the line finishes throughout, this year round lake front home has everything you need to make your stay a relaxing getaway all while enjoying all the fun of the local lakes. 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths including 1 br w/queen bed, 1 bedroom w/2 twins, sunroom w/foldout couch and living room w/foldout couch. Sleeps 6. Sunshine cottage offers an open concept kitchen, living and dining room with a bonus sun room all with excellent views of the lake. Outside you will find tons of space as the home sits on a rare to find double lakefront lot with over 75 feet of lakefront. Enjoy kayaks (2 adult, 1 child), a dock, a sea wall, a firepit, a grill, Adirondack chairs and lounge chairs for guest use. The water directly off the sea wall and dock is shallow for hundreds of yards in front of the cottage making it ideal for playing, lounging and splashing on a warm day! The first floor consists of a kitchen, living room, dining room, sun room, bedroom (with two twin beds), a full bathroom (toilet, shower, pedestal sink and mirror), and a laundry room (washer/dryer). The kitchen has a french door refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, cooking utensils, silverware, plates, cups, bowls, and all the items you need to cook a memorable meal. The kitchen island is large and has room to seat 4 comfortably. There is also a grill outside that can be used for cooking (grilling utensils are in the kitchen). The sunroom room has a couch that turns into a sleeper (sleeps 2). The living room has a couch, television, small coffee table and media cabinet. The dining room has a table and chairs for 4. The second floor consists of a master suite including a queen bed, dresser, desk and half bath (with toilet and sink/vanity). Please note: the home is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There is one step down from the parking area to get to the house. There are 2 steps up to get inside the home from both the front and back doors and there is a staircase inside the home to get to the second floor. Outside there is a step down from land to get onto the dock and to get into the water from the dock there is a large step down into the water. Guests will have access to the entire home and yard including the lakefront and dock. Guests may also use kayaks on site. Guests will NOT have access to: 1 locked closet inside the home The garage Pontoon boat Sailboat Please note: any guests who wish to bring their own boat or rent a boat must notify the owners at least one week prior to their stay. There will be poles directly adjacent to the dock to tie up to, Guests may NOT tie a boat or personal watercraft directly to the dock. The host will personally check in all guests, provide keys and a brief overview of the home. Check in time is between 3 and 6pm. The home is located on a small dirt road among many lake front cottages. Neighbors are friendly and the neighborhood is quiet. A 3 minute drive, 10 minute boat ride or 15 minute walk takes you to local restaurants and shops like Ore Creek Cider (voted best cider in Michigan), Trading post, NauitMi (Ice cream and local Michigan goods) and Riverside Pizza. If you need a full grocery store, there are two located within 10-15 minutes via car (Busch's 10 minutes, Kroger 15 minutes). Within walking distance is the Portage Lake Yacht Club which offers dining to the public with fabulous lake front views. While the lakefront home provides peace and quiet, it's also a short drive to many local towns (big and small) with tons of amenities: - 10 minutes to downtown Dexter (quaint shops, restaurants and a small town downtown feel). - 25 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and the Big House (many fine dining options, restaurants, night life and shops - Go Blue!). - 20 minutes to downtown Brighton (lots of great shops, restaurants and a riverfront park with walking trails) - 25 minutes to downtown Howell (more great restaurants and shops). There are also a multitude of trails nearby that are great for hiking and biking (Border2Border trail, Potawatami trail, Brighton State Recreation Area, Pinckney Recreation Area and more). Nearby parks include Hudson Mills, Dexter Huron Metropark and Mill Creek Park in Dexter. There is parking for 3 cars on site, two in the driveway and one next to the garage on the grass. The owners may be onsite temporarily during guest stays to use their boat. The owners will park on the street and may access the garage and dock.
