The Ocean Dunes Rec center is just across the street boasting another outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, hot tub, gym, sauna, showers and a gorgeous social room! The space You're at the southern most end of Kure Beach. This is the BEST of the Carolina Coast. Also, near-by you will find the North Carolina Aquarium, the Civil War battlefields at Fort Fisher and the NC Ferry to the quaint village of Southport and Bald Head Island. The charming city of Wilmington is minutes away nestled on the Cape Fear river with so many options for dining, shopping and entertainment. You'll want to dine out at some of our outstanding restaurants and visit the Boardwalk in Carolina Beach for fireworks on Thursday Nights and Britt's Doughnuts anytime. There is a local farmers market at the lake each Saturday morning, and outdoor movies on Sunday evenings. You'll never be bored on Pleasure Island. There are also many activities and attractions in the small town of Kure Beach, and Carolina Beach is only a short drive away. Enjoy great restaurants, live music, fireworks, outdoor movies at the lake, the Carolina Beach boardwalk with an arcade, Ferris wheel, shops, ice cream, Famous Britts Donuts, bars, and more. Two nearby state parks offer hiking, fishing, and water activities like paddle boarding and kayaking. You are also only 20-30 minutes from Wilmington and the downtown Cape Fear riverfront area, which offers a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. Our condo has the best view of the rare coquina rocks along the shoreline, which you can see well during low tide. These mounds of seashell and limestone form tiny pools and puddles of water and are home to all kinds of interesting sea life. They are the only naturally occurring rocky formation in North Carolina and are a fascinating and rare natural wonder. They are also slippery, so be careful! There are plenty of activities in the off-season as well, like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. This is an ideal vacation spot any time of year, so we know you’ll enjoy your stay in this slice of paradise! The HOA reserves the right to close pools for maintenance/or any problems that may occur. This will not entitle guests for any refund. The rec center is closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
