An amazing handcrafted hexagon shaped building tucked underneath and around the trunk of an old oak tree. Half inside half out, with comfy stylish interiors with log burner, spacious porch and fire pit. Set on the grounds of our summer campsite the winter set up is quiet and private shared only with 2 other cabins in their own areas of the site. With separate bathrooms at 30 metres shared only with up to 1 other family. Private bathroom possible if available, please ask. The space The Hive is central to our beautiful campsite just on the edge of the woods that adjoins our meadows and gardens. The Hive is wrapped around an old Oak Tree, at ground level. Inside windows surround the tree trunk to include the presence of the tree in your space. Outside the covered porch gives you a lovely big space with sofa to spend time outdoors whatever the weather. With campfire area you have everything you need for a back to nature yet comfortable trip. Inside the hexagon shaped room offers a double bed, another sofa, and a triple bunk bed (1 up 2 down). (Pls is ignore listing glitch has calculated 6 beds). It is a comfy cosy space and extra blankets are provided so you can tuck in and play games or read in complete peace and quiet. A wood burner heats the room well and creates a lovely cosy space. The cabin is off grid but there are rechargeable lamps inside. There is a charging point at reception powered by solar when its bright out side. Bedding is provided but you can bring your own for the children’s beds if you prefer, just let me know. Please bring your own towels. A cupboard filled with dining and outdoor cooking completes the basics necessary for a practical stay. We can provide a bbq grill and camping gas stove for your convenience. The campsite bubbles with families and laughter during the busy holidays and settles down to complete peace on weekdays. Out of season (Oct - March) when there are no campers, share the space only with the pheasants and the local wildlife as well as us and the family pottering around on one project or another. There are two other cabins on the grounds, each at around 50 metres away. The facilities (Loos, hot showers washing up, reception) are just 20 metres from the cabin. Bathrooms are rustic but comfortable and stylish. May be private for your use only depending on availability in winter. Each bathroom comprises two good hot showers, two loos and two sinks. The space around the cabin offers an area for outdoor cooking and dining with views across the meadows to the woods and across the campsite from the comfort of your deck. The property is around 7 acres including meadow, woods and orchards and you are welcome to discover and relax in any of the areas open to campers. Please note there is no Wi-fi but 4g networks are mostly good. Main parking is in the field away from the car free spaces. Firewood for the campfire is not included but can be purchased on site. (Firewood for the inside wood burner is included in winter only.) Guest access The property is around 7 acres including meadow woods and orchard and you are welcome to discover and relax in any of the areas open to campers. (There is a covered shelter and lounge outside reception where you can charge a device, use the fridge or purchase hot and cold drinks. We also offer our own free range eggs, honey and produce from the garden when in season, as well as home grown herbal teas, remedies and souvenirs. Other things to note Please note that the bathroom and facilities are not within the cabin. The cabin comprises a single sleeping and living space only. There are not 6 bedrooms as air b and b calculate. Facilities are in the main block just 30 metres from the cabin. Cooking facilities are over the fire only.
