Description
Meticulously preserved 1B Mid-Century Cabin w/AC, open beamed ceilings + loft in Big Bear! Perfect for a romantic getaway, a writer's retreat, or a family looking for a quiet stay close to all the mountain has to offer. Most of the furniture is authentic and era-appropriate vintage, except AC and a brand-new Casper mattress. This unique property is cozy yet spacious, with two-story windows. Lovely spot to watch the snow fall by a fire or relax in the spa après ski. Cabin sits on a double lot. The space NOTE FOR WINTER: We recently installed three new mini-split units throughout the house (living room, bedroom, and upstairs loft) to keep every area nice and toasty! In the event of a power outage, the wood-burning stove in the living room can be used to heat the cabin and extra wood can be accessed on-site. The cabin has a master bedroom on the ground level, an en suite full bathroom, and access to the spa off the back deck. The quaint kitchen is stocked with spices, bakeware, and utensils, including grilling accouterments. On the second-floor loft area, there's a hidden alcove with twin bed (perfect for kids!), a sofa bed for additional sleeping accommodations, as well as a large 4K TV with guest access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBOMax, Disney+, Criterion Channel, MLB, and more (streaming channels subject to change). The loft has its own dedicated balcony with a seating area overlooking the spa. The layout of this cabin makes it ideal for couples or small families. Outdoors, the spa is cleaned and serviced after every guest. We have a gas grill and a picnic table. There is ample yard space outdoors to run around, nap in the hammock, and swing in the huggle pods during warmer months. This is our second home, and we’ve put much thought and care into making this a special place. We're a short drive away from Snow Valley and Bear Mountain. The Village is about 15 minutes away. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Guest access Please park in cabin driveway, no street parking allowed. Other things to note We have gone to great lengths to preserve the charm and character that the first owner created when he built this one-of-a-kind cabin from scratch in 1964. While we've included a handful of modern upgrades such as AC/Heating, wifi, streaming services, and new linens, most of what you will find in the cabin is vintage. Although you’ll be far from “roughing it,” we do not have a microwave, garbage disposal, or dishwasher. The fully stocked kitchen is functional -- perfect for cooking and baking small meals -- but it’s not a chef’s kitchen suited for entertaining and the majority of the appliances are from the 60s. This cabin is most appropriate for a couple or small families that appreciate vintage decor and want a retro experience. During winter, travel up and down the mountain may require tire chains. Kindly look at KBHR933 or Big Bear Mountain Resort websites for up-to-date road condition updates prior to your travel. Things happen! Please consider purchasing travel insurance in case you need to alter your reservation outside of our firm cancellation policy.
