Description
Settle into the joys of nature in this earthen home in Moshi, Tanzania. Our cozy cob cottage features a queen size bed and a sleeping loft with a double bed. Located just outside of Moshi town, this is a fantastic place to slow down and engage in the rhythm of Tanzania. Cob is a natural material that has been used for centuries to build sustainably. We have created ours to blend in with the beautiful landscape of the Kilimanjaro region. The space Built with the qualities of nature in mind, our round cob house makes you feel nestled in the Earth. The house itself contains two beds (one lofted double bed), a couch, and a kitchenette with a small cooking stove. The bathroom is outside, but connected via a walkway. There is an outdoor dining table, as well as a separate covered space to lounge. We enjoy hosting folks who are ready to take a few days to slow down after safari or climbing Kilimanjaro. Guest access The house is situated on 1 acre of private land. Our family also lives on the property. The house and bathroom are private for guests, but our life on the property carries on. We often have neighbors and family on the property. Guests are free to use all spaces on the property including the outdoor dining table and lounge space. Other things to note Currently, we are building another cob house on the opposite side of the property. Cob building is quiet and won't disturb. It is also important to note that we do not take any measures to fumigate or otherwise use chemicals that harm the nature around us. That said, we share our home with numerous lizards (small gecko's), perhaps a spider or two, and occasionally ants and termites. Most of these critters are not harmful, and all balance each other in the eco-system. We take the "eco" part of eco-house seriously and do try to live according to nature as much as we can. Please make sure you can be respectful of this ethos before you book.
