Or just walk the trail downstream 3/4 mile and end up in the Old Mill / Box Factory for shopping/dining/music/etc. This is also an excellent entry point for floating the river in the summer! The neighborhood is easy to walk or bike around in and is right next to the river trail which leads to the Old Mill, Shops, Breweries, etc. We live in the neighborhood and are here to help make your stay wonderful. Feel free to say hello, but we understand if you want to keep to yourself as well. We've lived in Bend for 25 years and know the area pretty well. If you need anything, just let us know. Located in one of Bend's "secret spots" this home is situated along a private forested section of the river canyon. Close by is a trail head to the Deschutes River Trail. Head left and enter the wild and scenic Deschutes River trail with abundant riparian areas, fast flowing water, fly fishing holes and abundant nature. The loop is 3 1/2 miles from bridge to bridge. Head right and venture down calmer waters where you can paddle board to the Old Mill and back or just stroll along the boardwalk past playgrounds, parks and end at the Old Mill for dining and shopping. If mountain biking is your thing you can ride directly from the house and connect to 100s of miles of trails, or hop in your car and the Phil's Trail system and others are a mere few miles away. Cascades Lakes Highway is less than a mile from the rental and is your gateway to Mt. Bachelor for winter fun and the 60 plus mountain lakes for hiking, paddling and exploring. Woodriver Village (where this rental is located) is a quickly changing area. It's full of trailers changing into million dollar homes. It's still very quiet, little to no traffic, very safe, dark starry skies due to no street lights and just the sounds of nature and the river to hear. A short distance out your front door and you can hike the River Trail (3.5 mile loop, and favorite hike for Bend local. Or hop on a cruiser bike and ride along the river trail to the Old Mill (3/4 mile), Les Schwab Amphitheater, and all the fun on Bend's Westside. Drive to the Old Mill and Market of Choice grocery in 5 minutes, downtown in about 7. * NOTE: Enhanced Cleaning Routines are in place between each guest to conform with the newest guidelines.
