The Lodge is a peaceful and relaxing space on our property Stirling Parc. Located in Killawarra, 10 mins north of Wangaratta, The Lodge is away from the main home and your own private space. Accommodates 4 and has a well-appointed kitchenette and gas bbq. Quality bedding, towels, WiFi. Basic breakfast provisions. The Ovens River is at the back gate for walks, birdwatching or relaxing. Short drive to the Rutherglen, Ovens and King Valley gourmet regions, charming towns and nature walk The space The Lodge@Stirling Parc is self-contained and situated on 5 acres of green space that backs onto the Ovens River. It is in a very quiet area only 10 minutes drive from Wangaratta. The Lodge overlooks the large front garden which can be used by guests as it provides ample space for ball games, picnics etc. The Ovens River can be accessed on foot (2 min walk) and is a lovely place to walk, birdwatch, spot a kangaroo or just sit and relax. There are large number of bird species that visit - they are lovely to wake up to and know you're away from home! Inside, The Lodge is very comfortable with quality linen and towels, air-conditioning, wood heating and wi-fi. It is well appointed throughout, including the kitchenette which has a coffee pod machine, milk frother and benchtop appliances, as well as a bbq outside. The patio has an outdoor setting and gets the lovely morning sun and afternoon shade. The area has many attractions. Visitors can head to the gourmet regions of Rutherglen (25mins) and the King Valley (40 mins) to enjoy wonderful local produce and wines. Also within driving distance are some delightful towns including Myrtleford, Beechwoth, Yackandandah and Bright. The scenic mountain drives to Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek are also all easy trips. Closer by, over the border at Corowa (10 mins from Rutherglen) is a chocolate and liquorice factory and gin distillery located in an historic mill. There are also plenty of walking tracks close to The Lodge in the Warby Ranges and throughout the region. Maps and information are provided for guests. Wangaratta has great cafés and restaurants, something for everyone. There is a dedicated bike track accessible from Stirling Parc into Wangaratta and there are well-maintained parks and playgrounds around the town for your enjoyment. Guest access Guests have their own private accommodation with dedicated car parking away from the main home. The front garden of our property can be freely used for wandering, picnicking or playing ball games and the like. We request that guests do not come into the back garden except when accessing the path to the Ovens River. (The path is through our sheep paddock and guests must ensure that the gates are secure after using them.) * Guests are not permitted to use their vehicle to access the river. Other things to note We have a minimum TWO nights and maximum of FIVE nights per stay. The Lodge is self-catering. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar and some basic cooking needs (oil, salt, pepper etc) and condiments are provided. In regards to children under two years of age, The Lodge does not have a bath, high chair or cot. The wood fire has a screen but not an enclosed surround. Should guests have curious children who are 'wanderers', note that there is a river nearby (fenced off but climbable). We warmly welcome families, but please keep these things in mind for practical and safety reasons when booking.
