Historic six bedroom Victorian house c.1857 located in the heart of the quaint Franklin Village Historic District. Peaceful residential street just one block from Main Street and walkable to everything Franklin has to offer. Wrap around front porch and open backyard. 10’ ceilings with two living rooms on the main floor. This is a great stay for old house lovers who appreciate historic charm and original details. We’re experienced hosts and can’t wait to share our local tips with guests! The space Old house lovers! The original wood floors are intact in most of the house along with many original architectural details, so expect charm instead of perfection. There are two living rooms on the first floor with ginormous original windows that walk out on the wrap around porch, along with the Dining Room, updated Kitchen with Washer/Dryer, a full bath, and a twin bedroom. There is a TV with Hulu and Netflix (no Cable tv) in one of the living rooms. The second floor has vaulted ceilings with original stained glass windows. There are two generously sized King bedrooms - one with a crib - for dual Master Bedrooms. There’s a full bath upstairs that includes a tub, and two queen bedrooms along with a daybed in the third for a total of 5 upstairs bedrooms. There are 3 window AC units upstairs, so we do not have a Central AC system. Bedrooms can be accessed from a front and rear stairwell. Guest access The driveway can accommodate four cars, and street parking is available (check signage - one side is available the other is no-park). The village of Franklin is small and the house is a 2 min walk to everything in town. Other things to note There are three AC window units in upstairs bedrooms, as well as table fans. There is a picnic table and charcoal BBQ in the back yard - please bring your own charcoal if you plan to grill. There’s also a fire pit out back - wood is available for purchase at the corner (honor system - you pay as you take) one block away, or feel free to purchase at any gas station or grocer while en route. Franklin doesn’t have a supermarket / grocery store so please plan ahead. The closest are in Walton (The Big M) and in Oneonta (Hannaford), both 15-20 min away.
