Nestled in the quiet village of Perar, the home is a front-row seat to misty dawns melting into sunlit afternoons and the vibrant biodiversity of the Nilgiris. It is a place where you can trade commercial noise for the stories of local tea factories or a guided walk through nearby carrot farms. Here, the slow pace isn't just an observation, it’s an invitation to be "conscious and present," whether you are exchanging stories with our local host, Stephen, or savoring Amma’s delicious home-cooked meals. Designed with human-centred intention, the home comfortably holds six adults across two garden-view bedrooms and a living space that transforms with a evening turndown. Large windows and a private balcony hold the ligh and offer scenic tea garden views, while handcrafted teakwood furniture and sun-drenched French windows create a lived-in elegance. While we provide modern essentials like Wi-Fi for remote work, Bagaan is best experienced by savouring the quiet by trading the hustle of Ooty for a crackling bonfire and the absolute bliss of the blue hills. Guest access We have a stilt parking and as for public transport, there are regular buses from outside our place to both Ooty and Coonoor. To preserve the harmony of this sanctuary, please observe the following: •Mindful Arrivals & Presence: Bagaan is a stilt-constructed home located 10 km from Ooty; please enjoy the three-flight descent into the landscape from our parking. •Due to our remote setting, please plan your personal supplies, as off-site procurement by our manager is available only for a logistical fee. •The Living Landscape: We share this space with local wildlife. Please stay vigilant and accompany children and pets, especially at twilight, to ensure a safe, harmonious return to nature. •Quietude & Community: To honour our local neighbours, we observe quiet hours from 9 PM to 7 AM. Indoors, feel free to enjoy soft music as you unwind. •Living with Intention: Our power backup supports light, Wi-Fi, and essentials. While heaters and geysers rest during outages, we provide ample comforters for a cozy, authentic hill experience. •Caring for the Soul of the Home: Our linens and furniture are curated with personal care; please keep these indoor treasures inside and utilize our dedicated patio furniture for outdoor relaxation. •Safety & Integrity: As per local law, all guests aged 18+ must provide a government-approved ID (Aadhar, Passport, or License). We prioritize a secure environment; illegal activities, unauthorized visitors, and excessive alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited. •Mutual Respect: We trust our guests to care for their valuables and the home’s integrity.
