Description

The "Mehl-und Speckkammer" is located in a late-classical manor house on the 2nd floor. From here you have a wonderful view of Lenné Park. Individual furnishings, spacious rooms, wooden floors and clay walls painted in pleasant colors create a cozy atmosphere. Here you want to read and relax after a long walk. At our house you can read history and corresponding traces of time. If you like that, you will feel comfortable here. The space On the upper floor, where the atrium beloved by children is also located, you enter the apartment at the very end of the long corridor. This area had originally been used for storage of supplies. That's why we called the apartment the flour and bacon chamber. Below it is the hall on the ground floor, which as a former representation room has a higher ceiling height. You therefore get directly into the living room via a small staircase, where there is a double bed as a sleeping option. From this passage room, go to the right over a support beam into a friendly bedroom with a double bed and to the left also over a beam of the roof construction into the spacious kitchen with access to the older bathroom with shower and tub. Beautiful views of the greenery of the old park landscape from the dining table. In the bedrooms we have no curtains but only fabrics to darken the windows! Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is not always stable, so the apartment is only partially suitable as a home office. Outside the apartment there is an open living area with sofas and endless children's toys. Please only use this from 9 am and pay attention to the other guests in the house. Guest access Leistenow is a tiny village with a few inhabitants, where a bakery car gets lost three times ( Tue, Thu and Sat around 10 o'clock) a week. Shopping is 11 km away in Demmin. There is a very good small organic shop and the relevant supermarkets. In the neighboring village of Utzedel, 2 km away, there is a train station with regular connections to Berlin and Stralsund/ island Rügen. Other things to note As already mentioned, the flour and bacon chamber derives its name from its previous use. Here, supplies were stored and even chickens were kept in bad times. The roof construction can be recognized by the beams over which you have to climb when going from room to room. The old building means that you can hear each other. In the old days there were many family members and employees who worked in the house and garden, later in the war families were billeted who were brought to safety from the air raids in Szczecin, and after the war many refugees found shelter. In GDR times there was a consumption, a kindergarten, a nursing station, offices of the LPG and several simple apartments in the former manor house. On the upper floor there was a single bathroom for many people. Theater was played in the hall, danced and later a "farmhouse" was set up. After the reunification, the former owner set off together with the descendants of Leistenow. The old manor house was renovated over a long period of time. Now we share the spacious room with our holiday guests, which gives us a lot of pleasure.
