Maison Tranquil is a country house in Occitanie, southern France, near Carcassonne. The perfect place to relax, refresh & reconnect with family & friends. Maximum of 19 guests with 7 en-suite bedrooms. Set in 1.5 acres of private grounds with heated private pool. The heating is on from April to October. The space Relax, Refresh and Reconnect at Maison Tranquil. Maison Tranquil is a spacious gîte with stunning lake views set in over 1.5 acres of private grounds with private heated pool. Located in the heart of vineyards in the beautiful Razes region of the Occitanie. Surrounded by Cathar Chateaux, just 20 mins from the medieval town of Mirepoix and beautiful riverside town of Limoux. Carcassonne with its UNESCO world heritage castle and airport are only 30 minutes away, it’s a truly stunning rural location however very accessible. With large, light and airy communal spaces totalling 350m2. The house accommodates a maximum of 19 guests in 6 bedrooms (7 on request). All rooms have private bathrooms. The 1.5 acres of private terraced gardens host a heated child friendly gated pool area with pool house, a games area, giant garden chess and Jenga, and of course stunning terraces to soak up the Mediterranean sun and magical views, surrounded by nature. First Floor The first floor boasts 5 ensuite-bedrooms all leading off the galleried hallway that wraps around the house. All bedrooms are equipped with either king or queen beds, one of the rooms hosting a single bed, one of the rooms a bunk bed. Layout can be changed to accommodate individual requirements with day beds and cots available for children. Ground floor The ground floor is centred around the stunning dining room with an open fireplace and bespoke 4m oak dining table, there is ample seating for even the grandest banquet a great space for big get togethers. Leading off the dining room are 2 comfortable reception rooms with wood burning stoves, perfect for evening socializing during cooler months and escaping the mediterranean sun in the summer. Also off the dining room is a stunning modern kitchen/breakfast room with a dishwasher, microwave oven, range oven, kitchen island, it even boasts its own wood burning pizza oven. There is a utility room / pantry and direct access to parking so offloading food & wine is easy. There is a breakfast table that seats 6-8 people and access to the garden. Also on the ground floor is one bedroom with a queen bed, day bed and a private bathroom down the hall, perfect for mobility impaired guests that would prefer ground floor accommodation. In addition there is one bedroom with queen bed, a single bed and an ensuite-bathroom, available by request. Outside The dining room and kitchen lead out onto the sun soaked terraces with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and of course the lake. There are plenty of shaded areas, in addition to tables and chairs for al-fresco dining and a Barbecue. A few steps lead down to the large private gardens and lawns with garden chess, table tennis, giant jingo, a children’s play area and sand pit. Through a secure gated area you reach the beautiful outside heated pool approximately 12x5m, with shallow steps, perfect for children learning to swim, it is also alarmed to French AFNOR standards. There are plenty of sunbeds with towels available to soak up the sun and a pool house to relax in. Guest access Private Entrance. Up to 7 ensuite bedrooms available. Large communal areas, stunning south facing views of the lake. Private pool set in 1.5 acres of private grounds. Other things to note Over the 7 ensuite bedrooms we are ideally suited to groups of friends and families. We have beds to sleep a maximum of 19 people, we do have the ability to accommodate extra children for short breaks. We do not accept groups of more than 19 adults.
