The space With high ceilings and windows facing the mountains of Serra da Mantiqueira and the sunrise, Casa Montanha is an example of sustainability. Built with local resources and labor, this 60m² house perfectly combines the rustic, modern, farm style and comfort, providing the feeling of being at home. Casa Montanha is equipped with all the essentials for an extremely comfortable stay, regardless of the weather or the length of your stay. Wi-Fi is of great quality at any temperature. The bedroom door faces the sunrise, allowing you to admire it while still lying down. Bed and bath linens are 100% cotton, and the mattress is pillow-top. In addition, the room has a TV with Chrome Cast. The bathroom has a large shower stall and a bathtub positioned next to the window, transforming the bath into an experience beyond relaxation, providing a visual journey through the numerous mountains that make up the landscape. The water is heated by a solar heating system, and the bath amenities are vegan, not tested on animals and produced regionally, free of plastic. The kitchen, integrated into the living room, is complete and offers all the necessary items for an extended stay, including an electric oven, minibar, utensils and dishes, as well as hot water in the sink. All the faucets and showers on the property have potable water from our spring. In the living room, the fireplace and armchairs provide exceptional thermal comfort. Outside, you will find sun loungers, a fire pit, a spice garden, a shower, a barbecue and a lawn to enjoy the view, as well as a balcony with a table, chairs and a hammock. Guest access Sítio Alto da Cascavel is our home and, as welcoming hosts, we love to open the gates to welcome new friends. Here, everything is done with love and dedication. Because we live on the property, we will usually be present throughout your stay. However, we want you to feel completely free to choose between enjoying complete privacy or interacting with us and learning a little more about our projects. If you prefer, we can simply share a glass of wine and a good conversation. We would be delighted to accompany you on a more in-depth visit to learn about our work. We have some organic coffee planting areas. We also practice composting with earthworms, which take care of all the organic waste from the site, transforming it into fertilizer for the planting beds. As for sanitation, all the sewage from the site is treated in a biodigester, contributing to environmental preservation. Another important project is forest regeneration. Since our arrival at the site in 2020, we have planted more than 2,000 native tree seedlings. Our goal is to bring the fauna and flora back to our entire space. In addition, we have a project for the recovery and protection of springs on the site. We take care of our spring and, on a voluntary basis, help neighbors take care of theirs. Other things to note Access to Casa Montanha is via a concrete pedestrian path, 100 meters from the parking lot. This feature makes the house even more private, providing total isolation and silence. It is not recommended for people with limited mobility. To make it easier, we offer a wheelbarrow to carry the luggage and, if we are present, we will be happy to help with the bags. Casa Montanha provides guests with total privacy, isolation and tranquility, unique characteristics that the mountain environment offers. The temperate climate and altitude make the region, especially in the fall/winter, quite cold and sometimes windy. Our guests are always welcome to participate in the site's activities, such as collecting firewood, caring for the coffee plantation, visiting the water source and other activities carried out during their stay. Due to the location on the site, we suggest that guests bring the main items for cooking, if they wish to prepare their own meals. Our kitchen is complete. Our site is undergoing a reforestation process, which can attract wildlife. Insects are most common during the summer, but they are still quite rare. To access the site from the center of Córrego do Bom Jesus, it is 2 km of paved road and another 5 km of dirt road. A 4x4 vehicle is not required; an ordinary car can handle the hills easily.
