Tropical elevated house with pool

Spend your time in Darwin in our light filled, elevated tropical house. We are a couple with a young baby who travel to Arnhem Land regularly, providing you with a chance to enjoy Darwin in our tropical upstairs home. It has everything you need to have a relaxing and comfortable stay in Darwin, including a shady pool- a must during the sweaty tropical days. The space Come up the stairs to enjoy the breeze through the trees, the jarrah floorboards, light filled rooms and artworks from Arnhem Land and beyond. Our house has two bedrooms: The master bedroom with a queen bed. The second bedroom with a double bed and desk. The kitchen has an oven, stove top, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and opens onto a light-filled dining room and living room. Downstairs has an outdoor table to relax in, with the pool nearby. There is also washing machine and a spare toilet downstairs in the garden shed. There is a parking spaces under the house, however you can also park your car on the street. We are a stone’s throw from the Jingili water gardens, large green gardens perfect for a morning run or playground visit with kids, and a 5 minute walk form the famous Rapid creek markets (Sat and Sun). Our house features a plethora of emerging and established Northern Territory artists, including works from Maningrida, Yirrkala, Ngukurr and Gunbalanya in Arnhem Land, as well as works from central desert including APY lands, Yuendumu and Alice Springs town camps. This is our personal house which we rent when we’re out of town. We welcome visitors, and ask that you kindly keep in mind to respect our home. Our house is in a tropical environment- this means it’s hard to keep every surface spotless (although we endeavour to do our upmost). It also means you can enjoy the variety of native birds, geckos, lizards, possums, and other animals that visit the place sometimes. Guest access The Jingili Water Garden's lush array of tropical trees, sloping lawns and water fountains is very popular with locals, offering the perfect spot for a walk and is located just 2 minutes from the property. The Rapid Creek market (on Saturday and Sunday mornings) is just a 5-minute walk from the place. Local's favorite produce market, the South-East Asian influenced market is your perfect chance to try the Territory's best flavours- mango lassi or pandan sticky rice, coconut laksa or green pawpaw salad, they're all available here. You can walk to the Rapid Creek/Nightcliff foreshore (about a 20-minute walk to the beach along a footpath), which has regular food vans parked on the lawns overlooking the coast. There are a few take away stores nearby the house (including Indian, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine) and the Rapid Creek Happy Foodland for small grocery shopping. By car, the airport is just 5 minutes away (apx $11-$14 taxi), and about a 15-minute drive to the city.
