Come enjoy this peaceful escape in the Western Catskills. Our private mountaintop property is on 6+ acres with a big open hill in front to hang out, play and sled + woods in the back to explore. This secluded chalet has expansive views of mountains, valley, river and farms, which can be enjoyed from most parts of the house, large deck, balcony and dining barn. The early morning fog, colorful sunsets, and starry night skies can't be beat from up here. Perfect for families with kids & groups! A bit further to Oneonta, Cooperstown and Hunter. The house is spacious and clean and the set up is great for groups. We've decorated with beautiful furniture providing a modern, uncluttered and comfortable feel. Cook, eat, drink, or sit anywhere in this open main floor and enjoy the incredible mountain views! Tons of natural light throughout the house and AC to keep it cool in the summer. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need to cook and enjoy eating in with family and friends. There are a couple of options for making coffee, a Nespresso machine and milk frother, and a bar to get you started on making cocktails. The round dining room table fits up to 10 chairs comfortably. The living room is comfortable to hang out in, play games, read or watch TV with access to Netflix, HBO, Disney+. There's a grill, couch set and dining table on the front porch, a fire pit out on the lawn, and a large outdoor dining barn to fully enjoy the outdoors and take in the views. Play darts, corn hole or just hang and share a meal under the bistro lights. We have 4 large and comfortable bedrooms. The 2 bedrooms on the main floor have queen beds, dressers and closets. 1 bedroom upstairs has a king bed, dresser, a desk and balcony. You can see the view (and watch the sunrise) from bed. It's a dream! The 4th bedroom, which is also upstairs, has a bunk bed with a full size bed on the bottom, a twin bed on top and twin trundle bed beneath it (3 beds total). This room also has a futon and extra fold out sofa/mattress as well for even more sleeping places. This room is perfect for kids - there's a desk with some art supplies, small kids table and chairs and a closet filled with toys, books, puzzles and games! We have baby/toddler gear too (pack n play, high chair, potty, baby gates, stools, etc.) in a closet in case you need it but don't want to bring it with you. Working from home? There are 2 desks in front of windows (one with a view!) for sunny, quiet, and peaceful spaces to work or take zoom calls. Wifi works great! We are flexible and would love to accommodate if we can. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and property except for a locked closet containing personal belongings. Other things to note Dogs are welcome, but do let us know if you plan to bring one. We kindly ask that your dog is house-trained and stays off furniture. There's a cozy dog bed for them to use. They will love running around the yard and going on scenic walks up and down the road or on the local trails. Please note there is no fence on the property, but there is a gate to close off the porch so they can hang close and not run off. Please keep dogs with you at all times and respect our neighbors. Cats are not allowed. If you have another type of pet, please check with us first to see if it's ok to bring. **IMPORTANT: Our house is on a mountain and the dirt/gravel road is fairly steep. 4-wheel or AWD vehicle (or chains on tires) is required to stay here in the winter and highly recommended for all seasons. We have someone who will plow our road and driveway if it snows (but we cannot guarantee when they will be able to do it). Roads up here can be icy because of the windchill and elevation. Please make sure this is within your comfort level before booking in winter and be sure to drive carefully and avoid driving up or down the hill during a storm.
