It's a secluded cabin and we kept it small and pristine for a reason. We also just planted cherry trees and apple tree...We kept it pristine so one can feel nature. And we dont have internet or Tv there otherwize it would be like being in the city. Get a feel for what it is like to be in a cabin in the woods. There is a whole flourishing ecosystem there with family of rabits, foxes, humming birds, bees, butterflies and birds. We are planting a garden and flowers. A place for hiking lovers. The space Small but very charming log cabin on a 1 mile dirt road in the woods, in the Catskills hills, sitting on 20 acres with only 3 other cabins on that 1 mile . The dirt road continues and becomes state land for 3 more miles This is in the humble but naturally beautiful town of Claryville with breathtaking views of the surrounding Catskill Mountains and the crystal clear Neversink River that rushes through the valley! As you can see there are a lot of other cabins in catskill park to rent......we just wanted to keep our cabin more rustic and feel with nature..otherwise it feels like your back in the city. Feel a little country simplicity. This is a great place for hikers,writers campers and nature lovers take a break from your cell phones. The two story cabin features a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor and a sleeping loft bed on the second floor and there is a sofa downstairs. . The sun light fills the cabin with the rich color of the wood logs and the cathedral ceiling truly feels like the nature itself that surrounds it! Lots Hiking trails like Giant Ledge ,Slide Mountain, Bisquit Brook, and Denning Trail. There is a lot of wild life including bears,coyotes and porcupines and many others... For those who love to make a fire and cook outside, the stone outdoor fire place at the cabin will be a lot of fun! ..There is an outdoor shower bag to take a nice cool shower to refresh in the hot summer months …. Plenty of hiking trails and swimming holes in the area like Giant Ledge, Woodland Valley and Slide Mountain just to mention a few. There is a hiking trail behind our road Moore hill trail/Dening Road trail that goes to Red Hill fire Tower. Biscuit Brook great swimming hole, Blue Hole and Neversink Fishing about 2 miles from us. A snow mobile trail too for bikes which is right behind us on Barnes road. The nearest swimming hole is approximately 5 mins drive in the pristine Neversink River which is also great for fishing! The nearby YMCA is offering horse riding for kids and other great activities. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables are available at the nearby farms within a few mins drive from the cabin! We decided to keep the Cabin and the forest that surrounds it full of nature's beauty without it being too manicured. To feel and breath a little bit of nature away from the hectic city, away from phone and internet and tv. A time to reflect look at a butterfly, sky, the fire, fireflies, bears and all the wonders of life and nature. This is a great place for people who like to hike, be with nature and get away from your cellphones a time to reflect. Have a great time. When it gets colder people must know how to use a wood stove. If you don’t know how don’t book u can’t use YouTube video must know One can use outdoor shower or take a bath or a shower indoors in the cabin …... . The wood stove is the only source of heat when it is cold so must know how to use..also remember it is the country, there are lots of insects up there and when its colder they seem to like to hide in the window sill ...just open windows and let them fly out... It's kind of rocky and hilly , so take care when you walk . Walk safely. No big fires in the fire pit. It will alert the DEP and it is not safe. There is a strong DEP presence here. They are careful because it is the watershed area and lots of protected wild land. Inn the summer the nights are cooler anywhere between 49 to 69 Guest access the cabin but not the basement... Other things to note Please don’t bring the city back to country …no music outdoors there is an echo in mountains and people come to hear nature This is the Catskills so while it can be very quiet sometimes people can be in the the other cabins 2cabins up the road ..but it’s usually very quiet it feels like your far away in an oasis... There is a whole eco system on our property with bull frogs, salamanders, porcupines, rabits, bears and lots of birds, garden snakes , coyotes howl sometimes etc...There is a family of rabits and wild turkeys who live on property. I dont want them injured. . And be aware there are bears close by. ....there is also a porcupine close (URL HIDDEN) is very quiete up there expecially during the week....On Labor day weekend...the last weekend of summer...however...its busier up seems it is the last big hurrah of summer...... in the hunting season which is from sept till dec...there are more people up there WE clean cabin with chlorox and air out the cabin and in between stays there will be a minimun of 24 hours if not more..We use the cabin too so we want it be safe and you be safe... . We have made an outdoor shower great outdoors for cooking off We dont provide wood but sometimes we might have please ask we can sell ... so you will need to bring your own. You MUST know how to make a fire if you use woodstove indoors...No youtube videos of how to use... must know. Also there is Cell phone reception up the hill On Red Hill Road I case of emergency. And I am Up the road on Barnes road if you need In addition the weather everywhere has gotten more more unpredictable making power outages happen. Up here the electric company responds if there is an outage within 3 hours so please let me know and be patient One dog allowed must be over 1 year old no puppies allowed, must be on leash, can not be left unattended In cabin, no wee pads allowed only bathroom outside and dog poo has to be picked up , no digging and no barking dogs it destroys the peace for other people.
