Fully stocked kitchen, and nearby summer activities makes staying here fun and enjoyable. Come find out what others already know!! The space Trade the noise, traffic, work, and your hectic daily life for peace, quiet, mountain views, and fresh air -- perfect for artists, writers or outdoor enthusiasts. The classic Vermont village with post office, library, and summer events including concerts, historical museums, and community dinners combine to make it the best of a living Norman Rockwell illustration. Excellent access to mountain resorts -- Okemo, Killington, Pico one way; Stratton, Magic, and Bromley the other for the hikers, bikers, golfers and alpine sliders. Weston, Manchester, Queechee and Woodstock are nearby for the shoppers, concerts and theater. Trails for hikers and riders and huge night-time skies are just outside the door. Turkeys (not bred for eating, alas), deer, birds, and an occasional bear may appear but renting the house does not include a guaranteed sighting of any wildlife. It is a great place to unwind and relax. Views! all around and always a breeze to soothe the soul. Your children and dog are welcome to come and run free on 31 acres of woods and meadows. Three bedroom loft apartment on our beautiful property in the Green Mountains is the perfect skier’s haven, romantic hideaway, or family vacation destination. The loft features exceptional views of Killington Mountain and its neighbors during the day and skies unaffected by ambient light (unless you include the moon and shooting stars in that category). A cathedral ceiling and hardwood floors highlight the open floor plan. The beautiful marble and cherry breakfast island, well appointed kitchen, dining/living room, are comfortable and handsome. The spiral staircase to the loft, and the secret hiding spots are great play areas for kids. All these features add to the unique beauty of the bucolic setting. The main floor sleeps 4 with two bedrooms. The upper floor has a double bed and lots of floor space for those little sleeping bags. Linens and towels are provided. The fully equipped kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, ice maker, coffee pot, and bar sink. Dishes, utensils, pots and pans are sufficient for all your gourmet cooking and baking endeavors. Wireless Internet is available – you could bring your work and sit looking out at the view. Don’t count on using your cell phone, however, unless it is Verizon, or perhaps AT&T– this is Vermont. Don’t forget your camera, you will want pictures of the scenic countryside. Year round recreation opportunities are outside your door. Winter sports, maple sugaring, lazy days of summer, or fall colors -- we have it all!! For those who think a bad day of skiing is better than a good day of work, a short drive brings you to the base of the Okemo Mountain Resort. A drive of 30-45 minutes brings you to Killington, Pico, Stratton, Magic, or Bromley. Step out the door and there are trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling (the VAST trail crosses the property). Sledding/tobogganing opportunities and ice-skating on the nearby lake may also be available, weather permitting, and in the winter that is the case more often than not. For those attracted to less rigorous ways of enjoying themselves, the Weston Playhouse and Kinhaven Music Camp are nearby as is the oldest cheese factory in the U.S., Crowley Cheese. A bit further are Ludlow and Rutland, Weston, where shops, concerts, and restaurants are located. In the summer, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, reading or writing your novel are fabulous but the best is watching the fireflies and shooting stars. A fire pit and grill are available as is bocce, corn hole, and lots of room for kids to romp and run. Don't worry if the weather doesn't suit your fancy. The apartment has many board games, puzzles, books, cards, a DVD player. There are toys for the little ones as well. It is the perfect yard for your dog to run free, chase a ball or a stick. This is truly a vacation spot that has something for everyone in your family or group. Discounts are available for long term stays and repeat customers. Dogs are permitted by request. No smoking, please. Minimum stay 2 nights; 3 nights during a holiday weekend. Guest access The entire apartment is yours to enjoy. Outdoor spaces include the gardens, picnic table, fire pit and lawn near the house. There is plenty of wandering room in the meadows for walking or snow sports. Other things to note The closest grocery stores are in Londonderry, Cavendish or Rutland so stock up on your way in to town. Registration number MRT-10126712
