The east side of Moloka'i island is the lush side and the grounds of Wavecrest Resort are a true example of this tropical beauty. From the condo's lanai you can watch the amazing sunrises over the island of Maui - and whales in the channel! This condo has an ocean view and being on the ground floor - the convenience of NO STAIRS! You can walk from your car into the unit - and then out the lanai to the ocean, pool, cabana, gardens or BBQ area. The condo is fully equipped with the necessary household amenities. There is a fully stocked kitchen - including a grinder, coffee maker & a French press. We even provide the coffee beans. There is a one bedroom that has a queen bed, a large dresser and closet with lots of space for your items. The pull out couch provides a double bed for an additional 2 guests. The renovated bathroom is fully stocked with bath towels and beach towels - so just bring your suit! I have a disability - so there is a shower chair provided - if needed. The living room has a flat screen TV with a streaming Roku stick - so stream your favorite channels. We also offer high speed Wi-fi. Games and card decks are also available - as we are a big game family. We also have a growing library of good books. Every time we come to the island we bring more books to share. There is a washer and dryer located right outside the front hallway - it is a pay unit and there is one located on each floor. Takes coins, credit cards, and Apple Pay. The cabana/pool area includes a refrigerator, prep area with sink, shower, bathroom, two gas grills, a guest donated library, and plenty of lounging chairs and tables. On the condo grounds there is shuffle board and tennis courts available. The unit has a wonderful ocean facing lanai with chairs, a lounger, and table to enjoy meals and your morning coffee. It is a wonderful place for hanging out, reading, and enjoying the ocean breezes - or, getting out and taking advantage of empty beaches, the pool, and of course - the sunshine. We do offer a lot of snorkeling gear and beach chairs. We know what it's like to rent a place and we want to make sure that Kay's Place meets your every expectation and need. Amenities: Whale watching from the lanai! High speed Wifi Shower amenities - Shampoo, conditioner, and even a shower chair! Bath and Beach towel Snorkeling Gear Beach chairs Hair Drier Fully Stocked Kitchen Microwave, gas stove & oven, toaster, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, French press, coffee beans & grinder Flat screen TV with Roku (Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, etc) Pool BBQ grills Handicapped parking and non-handicap parking directly in front of unit Fans and a good cross breeze And...watch out for falling coconuts, mangos, and avocados that fall from the trees on the property!! I am always available by text ( (Hidden by Airbnb) , as well), email, and phone during your stay. I live in Alaska - but do my best to direct you around the island. We have a great resource book in the condo. I also have a wonderful person who is on island and available to help! Moloka'i Island is a glorious place. It is not well developed - so, don't be surprised to find that you're the only one of only a few people on the gorgeous sand beaches. There is surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, paddling, and hiking available. The main town of Kaunakakai is 13 miles away and has access to restaurants, ice cream shops, bakeries, an amazing açaí and poke food truck, and grocery stores. There is a nice restaurant and bar at the hotel - Hiro's Bar and Grill. This place is open on Sunday's - which is helpful when the rest of the island is rather shut down. There is also a small grocery store and food counter located 2 miles up the road. A nice smoothie is a welcome treat when coming from the up-island beaches. An organic farm provides boxes of produce - if given notice. I can provide more information if you're interested. I am always available for questions - and don't hesitate to ask! The best way to access the island is via a rental car. There are two options on the island - Alamo and Moloka'i Rental cars. Reserve early! The island directions are given by mile markers - so we are at mile marker 13. A great snorkeling beach is at mile 22. So, you'll need to pay attention to those markers! The town of Kaunakakai is at mile 0. Just for reference. There is only one airline that fly to Moloka'i from both Maui and Honolulu - Mokulele Airlines (also under Southern Airlines). If you need handicap accessible travel - please contact the airline directly. There is no large jet service to the island. The ferry is also not running between Maui and Molokai. Just make sure you are wanting a listing on Moloka'i Island. Sometimes, the rental places will show you listings on Maui and Oahu. This is Moloka'i - it's a tiny, but incredible island. Come and slow down - and enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer!
