Our cottage is located just steps from the Ottawa River, in an enchanting setting. The cottage area has been improved. A quiet and peaceful place, near Gatineau Park, Old Aylmer, an organic farm, 22 minutes from Ottawa, and a few minutes from the bike path. Citq 305464 The space Our charming chalet is located on our property and our guests are right by the river. Dating from the 1940s and lovingly renovated, it offers breathtaking views of the river and nature. It is a restful place, where one can easily forget the time. Guest access The Chemin des oies a narrow street, so you have to drive very slowly (15 km / h). It is safer for the children of the neighborhood, the dogs and the turtles that circulate there. We have a gravel parking lot in front of the house where you can park without problem. Other things to note Do not hesitate to let us know if you are looking for activities to do, want recommendations of places to discover, or have forgotten something at home. We will do our best to help you! Wi-Fi Internet is available to you. The reception is maximum in the room. Two bikes are at your disposal and you can bring your sup, kayak or canoe and go on an adventure. We share 2 adults kayaks and a kid kayak with our guests. Simply text us if you want to use them and we will get the paddles out. A trail near the house allows you to go to Aylmer beach (1 main street - 7 mins by car) easily by bike and even to the grocery store and restaurant! At the end of the Terry Fox road that you descend to come to the chalet there is a pebble beach on the other side of the barriers. The waterfront must remain natural due to flooding. This helps reduce soil erosion. You can walk more than 200 meters in the river with your water shoes. Otherwise in Aylmer it is a sandy beach. The Ottawa River is the one where the water level varies the most quickly, being able to rise or fall by more than 1 meter (30 inches) in a few days. If the dock sometimes seems oddly installed, it's because there has been a change in the water level! We offer different options to prepare your coffee (traditional nespresso, coffee plunger, Italian coffee maker) but it is your responsibility to provide your coffee and condiments.
