The Woodshed Lodge is the closest lodging establishment to Jay Peak Resort, just a three minute drive to Jay Peak which sits uphill on the same road (Rt 242). We are an authentically rustic, traditional B&B which has hosted families, skiers, hikers, bikers, nature lovers, private groups, weddings/elopements, retreats, and other events for over 70 years. The lodge has been continually updated with many modern amenities (high speed wifi, hot tub..) but very much retains that 'back in time' charm (stone hearth fireplace, antiques throughout). The main lodge building can sleep up to 20 across our 6 guest rooms, 5 of which have attached/en suite bathrooms. The large, rustic dining room with wood stove can comfortably seat up to 25, and has hosted standing parties (with musician & buffet line) of up to 35. Also in the dining room is our continental breakfast bar and a kitchenette for basic food storage and prep if needed (microwave, toaster oven, kettle, hot plate, bar sink, fridge/freezer, and utensils). There are multiple sitting rooms and common areas with shelves full of books and games for adults and kids, yard toys & games, and no shortage of funky antiques that we've collected over the past 70 years. Our newest 'suite' is Spruce Cabin, a standalone modern log cabin that sits in its own private corner of the property and sleeps up to 6 between the master bedroom, upstairs loft, and double-sized futon in the living room. The cabin has a full bathroom w/ shower, a full kitchen, laundry machines, and a large, enclosed porch for outdoor dining and/or storing gear and equipment. For this listing, the cabin is reserved along with the rest of the property. Our peaceful 10 acre yard features an outdoor hot tub, multiple fire pits, lawn games, sitting areas, a large gravel pad with event tent (for weddings & parties), and a 1-acre stream-fed trout pond with a dock for hanging tired legs in the cold water. the yard is surrounded by dense woods and a babbling brook on three sides. Gentle trails offer unmatched solitude and plenty of opportunities to see some of our resident wildlife. Our onsite innkeepers will make sure your stay is exactly what you expected, though we can also offer privacy and separation of space if desired. If desired, we can offer our hearty and well-reviewed "Vermontinental" breakfast each morning. Additionally, we can help to organize custom food options for larger groups - please enquire about pricing for breakfast and/or other food options. In addition to dining options we can offer custom guided adventure tour packages for our private groups. These include hiking, camping, sidecountry & backcountry ski touring, river tubing / canoeing, snowshoeing, trail running, nature walks, dog-friendly adventures, and more. For bad-weather adventures or for those looking for a more relaxing program we can also help with discounts to indoor options including the climbing wall, movie theater, waterpark, ice skating rink, massage/spa facilities, art museums, and more.
