Castle in Mandres-les-Roses
Description
A beautiful former Royal Château in the Paris metropolitan area. Just 22 km or 13 miles to the city center. This historic château is from 1640 and used to be a hunting mansion for the French Royal family. Only 30 minutes to Paris city center if you drive outside rush hour. Just 40 min to EuroDisney. Champagne region starts 1 hour away. The space Historical former Royal hunting château from 1640. One of few existing original Mansart structures left in the Paris area. Prince Philippe, the Duke of Orléans, had romantic affairs in the château, according to historians. He was the younger brother of the Sun King Louis XIV. If you are looking for a unique place to bring family and friends, this is it! Château Larose is especially a favorite among visitors from the US, and even a top rated reality show recorded their episodes from Paris here. The whole property, including the garden, is walled & gated and is very safe. Not that it is needed, there are virtually no issues in this cute little village and people don´t even lock their doors when they go out to the bakery in the morning. Château Larose represent outstanding value for money. In Paris a regular hotel room for two people can often be more expensive per night than renting our entire château. Guest access You will have access to all rooms except the basement and owner´s closet in the master bedroom. Please note that the orangerie/billard room is a summer room mainly. You will have access all year, but in spite of having big iron radiators, it might be a bit cold in the winter because of the very high ceilings. Other things to note The property is located in the village of Mandres-Les-Roses, just 22 kilometer from Paris. This cute little town is in the "Métropole du Grand Paris" or the official Paris metropolitan area. There is a metro RER line in Brunoy, 4 km away, and this takes you straight to Paris city center in 28 minutes. EuroDisney is 40 minutes away by car. Since this property is located on the eastern side of Paris, it is easy to reach the Disney Village without going through the Paris traffic. Orly International Airport is only 15 km away. Uber works very well from the house, and there are local taxis and busses as well. Having a car is recommended and we have parking for free on the property inside the gate. We also have a few bicycles you can borrow to go get around locally. Great for a quick trip to the bakery or local supermarket. We do not recommend bringing small children under 5 years to the château without discussing it with us first. This is a place full of fragile objects, stairs and a fountain in the park. In total there are 9 bedrooms. 6 have double beds, 3 have single beds. 2 of the single bed bedrooms are ensuite to the largest bedrooms. Ensuite means that you have to go through another bedroom for access to hallway and bathroom. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. See photos. The house takes 14 guests maximum, but 12 guests is a much more comfortable and recommended number. Please note that we do not allow any outside guests to visit the house, and we do not want the house used as a venue for weddings or parties.
