Guest access The rooms are yours, no other residents Other things to note The village breathes tranquility and remoteness, with its old and flower-decorated chalets that are especially numerous around the village square, its mill next to the church and a mostly deserted - very nice - playing ground. At the same time it is within 10 minutes reach of the next tourism center of Zinal. Here or in Grimentz – the mountain village apposite to Ayer- you can for example take a cabin that within a few minutes leads you up close to the peaks of the mountains to relax, enjoy a lunch in the midst of an impressive panorama of nearby peaks – amongst them the Matterhorn and the Ober Gabelhorn that you can see from Ayer, too - or hop on a trampoline or start hikes, or have a fun ride down on all-terrain scooters. Or you take a relaxed stroll in the beautiful mountain villages and stop by some nice café or use the spa in Zinal or the swimming pool in Vissoie amongst many other options. Activities examples: You can explore Ayer's mountain by foot (with baby buggy there are good opportunities too) on streets or slopes starting right in Ayer, to see small mountain water streams and enjoying spectacular viewpoints on many 4000 m high mountains. There are also guided tours about Ayer's surrounding alpine eco system and about the rituals that the historic mountain people oft he Anniviers region used to have. You can explore the moutains as well by bike on one of the several VTT-trails. Or you take a stroll through past times on a guided village tour about the villager‘s old ways of living visiting different stone cottages and former work places of Ayer.
