It is located on the secluded beach of Backwash Bay on an acre and a half of lushly landscaped gardens. The Osa Peninsula is paradise for nature lovers who thrive on adventure. It is as pristine and off the beaten-road as it gets! There are no big hotels, or discos on the beach. It’s raw, beautiful and brimming with life. National Geographic calls the area the most bio-diverse place on the planet! Wake up to the sounds of the howler monkeys, take a swim in the ocean, then stroll along a secluded beach and watch Scarlet Macaws soar overhead. Afterwards, take a dip in the refreshing plunge pool and relax in a hammock while watching four different kinds of endangered monkeys play in the bamboo gardens off the deck. At night, sleep in a comfy bed under a mosquito net canopy while being lulled to sleep by the rhythmic sound of the waves. It is entirely powered by solar energy and has a rainwater catchment system as well as fresh spring water. Here, you can experience off the grid living in jungle luxury. Casa Arenosa is a two-story, open-air home, with a plunge pool and plenty of decks and areas to relax and lounge. It has with three bedrooms, two bathrooms with indoor/outdoor showers, a separate kitchen palapa and a dining room palapa all connected with an open thatch-roof breezeway. The sleeping arrangements are flexible. We have a king size bed upstairs, (with two extra twin beds available upon request.) Downstairs there are two bedrooms: 1. One has a king bed that can be converted into two twin-size beds. 2. The other bedroom has a double size bed. Our wonderful caretaker, Jafet (who is a certified jungle tour guide) is Costa Rican and fluent in English. He lives in a separate, private home on the back of the property, and he can arrange all your services and tours! Guest access You have full access to the main house, gardens and beach. There is a separate laundry area, and you may request our housekeeper to do your laundry for a small fee. Naturally, we trust you will honor our caretaker's private home space on the back of the property. Other things to note In order to make our house affordable for couples and honeymooners, we chose to charge a variable rate rather than a flat rate. :). It is a base rate for double occupancy and $75/additional person/night. (I’m sorry - this also includes kids)
