HOME of the OPENING FLOWER is located on a bluff, setback from the ocean, on a large private property, overlooking a serene valley, and the blue ocean. This open plan home has AMAZING VIEWS spectacular ocean views from the entry hall, kitchen, dining room, 20-ft tall living/great room, and from three of the four bedrooms, plus from the lanais, and from the back yard and side yards. The fourth bedroom overlooks a tranquil garden with water-lily pots, and verdant front yard. BEDROOM #1, the largest bedroom, master bedroom, has an ensuite bathroom with double-sinks, a California-king bed with end tables, large recliner arm chair, chaise longue, a dresser, a large desk with comfy office chair, HDTV, and AMAZING VIEWS great ocean views. BEDROOM #2, the only upstairs area, has an ensuite bathroom, a California-king bed, a dresser, chair, HDTV, private lanai/balcony, AMAZING VIEWS great ocean views, and a mountain view. BEDROOM #3, has an Eastern-king bed, end tables, small desk with comfy chair, AMAZING VIEWS great ocean views, and direct access to the main lanai. BEDROOM #4, has an Eastern-king bed, end tables and chair, and overlooks a tranquil garden with water-lily pots and the front yard. Bedrooms #3 and #4 share a hall bathroom. All of the bedrooms have well-accommodating tiled closets, supplied with suitcase rack(s), extra sheets, blanket. The laundry hall has a handy folding, hanging, and bin area. The living/great room is equipped with a full-motion curved 65" 4K smart TV with DVR; and a variety of board games. The ocean breezes and Haiku ceiling fans throughout, keep the home fresh and airy. Air conditioning has been recently installed. Quiet, individual units are mounted on the wall in each of the bedrooms, and in the living area, and are individually controlled, so that you can select from within each room, whether or not to utilize A/C, and if so, at which temperature. The A/C units are also equipped with "heat" and "dry" settings, for those occasional cooler days, when the temperature dips. All of the living areas (entry hall, kitchen, dining, great room), as well as three of the four bedrooms, have AMAZING VIEWS superb ocean and greenery views. The fourth bedroom has an extensive view of front gardens and yard. Colors are continually varying in all directions, wherever you are in or outside of or around the home. *In case you are considering ACCESSIBILITY* for one or more persons in your group, there are three levels, the first of which may suit your requirements. LEVEL 1. The driveway, sidewalk leading to front porch area, and front porch, as well as the front lawn, are all at ground level. There is a step-up of about two or three inches, from the front porch thru the front door, into the entry hall. The front door, front entry hall, the kitchen and dining areas, and Bedroom #4, plus the hall bathroom, are all on the same entry level. The hall bathroom has a shower with built-in corner seat (as do the other bathrooms). The step-over from bathroom floor into the shower is about six inches. The entry hall, and all of the areas that adjoin it, except for Bedroom #4, do have an ocean view. Presently, dining chairs and a bench are situated on the entry level. One or more larger, comfortable chairs could easily be set on the entry level if it is required or preferred that anyone avoid stairs. The television in the living/great room is well visible from the dining area, and can rotate too. The front entry hall and the front porch, have a cheerful view of gardens and yard. LEVEL 2. The large ocean-view living/great room with adjoining lanai, and ocean-view master bedroom with ensuite master bathroom, is about three steps down from the entry level. Bedroom #3, one of the ocean-view bedrooms, and the laundry hall, are two steps down from the entry level. The garage is about three steps down from a garage entry hallway near the dining area. LEVEL 3. The upstairs ocean-view bedroom and its ensuite bathroom, and lanai, are the only upstairs areas. During migratory seasons, your view encompasses whales spouting, breaching, and teaching their young, and Laysan Albatross birds as they visit their nesting grounds. A ten minute walk takes you to the start of a trail leading to a secluded beach. Below, are listed General Excise and Transient Accommodation tax numbers which are required by the state of Hawaii. For bookings made prior to the latter part of August 2019, there is no AirBnB billing of vacation renters for these taxes. These state of Hawaii taxes are paid separately, by the homeowner. For bookings made in the latter part of August 2019, or later, guests will see an itemization in guest charges for theses taxes, which, for Kauai, total 14.1 % of the nightly rate.
