A Tranquil Cottage Minutes From The Beach
We've been told our cottage feels like a sophisticated tree house. Just a quick drive to the beach and activities, but none of the hustle-bustle or crowds. The views are breathtaking, and you'll feel yourself start to relax the moment you drive through the gate. Our guests love staying here as it is nestled in the forests on the mountain Hualalai overlooking the beautiful Big Island coast. For those that love hiking we are close to beautiful rain forest trails and coffee farms just a few minutes drive further up the mountain. We are just minutes from beautiful beaches and the the quaint Kona town. Our elevation offers a cooler climate for those that like a reprieve after a hot day at the beach. We are on 3 acres of Ohia forest that provides a sense of quiet retreat. The space you are renting is the upstairs unit only. The yard space is common use but the patio downstairs is where we live. The top of our property is designated to guests of Big Island Tiny Village and is not available for use. We are happy to help give tips on local excursions and events. We know and love this Island having four generations that have made this Island their home. We look forward to sharing our love for this place with you. The Kaloko community is a unique look at Hawaii. There is such diversity to The Big Island and our neighborhood provide a forest experience to your island visit. We live on the slopes of the beautiful Hualalai mountain and are about a 10-15 minute drive to town and local eateries as well as the airport. Having a rental car is highly recommended as you will want to explore this beautiful island and it’s vast range of climates. From tropical to tundra we have 11 of the 13 climate zones. Having a 4 wheel drive, while not necessary, will give that extra edge to explore green sands beach and many other locations. We do have Uber on the island as well. Kona also rents bikes for day rides along the coast. The Hawaiian people have a beautiful way of expressing their culture in the way they “live aloha”. Part of your decompressing from the busyness of life will be to enjoy and embrace that spirit of aloha. The key to a rich and rejuvenated experience here is to appreciate the place and the people. E Komo Mai! We welcome you!
