The rooms are separated from one another by a full bathroom. The king bedroom faces the tree-lined seasonally running Waiohonu stream, the queen bedroom is in a nook of it's own. A 360 degree tower offers mountain views and a glowing sun rise over the ocean. Food prep area offers a miniature refrigerator, coffee maker, double hot plate and electric grill, allowing for the re-creation of your new favorite local recipes. Sliding glass doors provide an abundance of natural light and nature's soundtrack: birds rustling through coconut and banana leaves, a Melodious Laughing Thrush or Mountain Dove. A spacious marbled countertop bathroom with view of local foliage and offers a washing machine and a dryer for convenience. Permanently secured screen doors promote air flow throughout the bedroom and common areas. Ceiling fans add additional comfort on warm days and nights. The Whale Watch comes generously prepared with beach towels, bath towels, face cloths and rugs for exiting the bath. Maui Moisture brand shampoo & conditioner and Neutrogena Rainbath shower and bath gel. (toothbrush and paste can be requested) Two sleeping areas, full bath and screened food prep area in a private suite situated above a double garage. Stairs lead to a private tower where you can enjoy your coffee overlooking the mountain and ocean. We are available by phone and are on property in the case of an emergency. Hanapapalani is situated in the Makaʻalae moku, 10 minutes south of Hana town. The property is situated alongside Waiohonu stream which only runs when there are heavy rains up in the mountains. Walking out the driveway towards the ocean cliffs will bring you to Waioka Pool. Hamoa Beach is 4 minutes by car, or a 20 minute walk – 1.5 miles by road or along the shoreline. Guests have 2 parking spots available below the Whale Watch Suite. *Calendars open 6 months in advance* Our guidelines are made to ensure all guests are comfortable and safe during their time of reservation. The maximum occupancy per cottage is 4, including children 12 years of age and older. We coexist with geckos and insects, and at times they get closer than intended, despite our attempts to keep them out, occasionally they slip into some enclosed spaces at times. We remove them in preparation of your visit and ask for your participation in deterring them by: shutting off lights at night when a room is unoccupied putting food waste in compost bucket & close light putting leftover food in the refrigerator.
