Nearby: Within a 10 minute walk you can access a grocery store, multiple cafés, restaurants, shops, post office, yoga studios, banks and ATM’s as well as the local bus line. Beautiful Hanalei Bay is only 10 min drive by car. Hanalei is a great place to walk, swim, boogie board or enjoy surfing from beginner to advanced abilities. The Condo Complex and Community: This condo is located in the Paniolo Condominium Complex, located in Princeville, a quiet resort community that has many walking trails with sweeping mountain and ocean views. Princeville is located on a bluff overlooking Hanalei Bay and offers spectacular views of Hanalei Bay and of the famous “Bali Hai” ridge that earned its fame from the movie South Pacific. The condo is located perfectly for anyone who would prefer not to have to always drive to enjoy the area, with plenty to see and do on foot. Transient Accommodations Tax license number TA-196-744-3968-01 The condo is private and all yours with: -Free, prime parking, close to condo. -Quiet and refreshing pool (key provided with condo keys). -Convenient access to the N Shore of Kauai from the beautiful, resort community of Princeville. An optimal base camp to access and explore the entire island. -Key Lock Box code is provided upon receipt of signed rental agreement. I'm passionate about sharing the love of my island with my guests, which includes offering my local advice, recommendations and any helpful tips. I feel that vacation time and money is too valuable to waste, so I am always available for questions and give thoughtful and genuine answers. I do enjoy meeting guest, but I honor their privacy and don't typically bother them during their stay. Princeville is a convenient and beautiful community on the North Shore of Kauai. Here's why you'll love it: From the condo location it is easy to walk to the beach or the grocery store. Views are spectacular, surrounded by ocean, mountains and waterfalls! There is a network of fantastic walking and running trails all over Princeville, making it likely the safest and easiest of locations of the island to walk or take a run. Also many of the nearby golf courses are open for pedestrian exploration after 5pm, which is beyond excellent for sunset strolls. The coastline below Princeville provides some of the most pristine, clear water on the North Shore due to the lack of rivers and fresh water runoff. Because of this, Princeville has some amazing exploring to enjoy below its bluffs (surf conditions permitting!!). The clear water provides some of the best turtle viewing, snorkeling, pristine coves and nook-and-cranny gems on the North Shore. Some of these places are hard to find, so ask me and I'll be happy to guide you along. I also have a customized map I provide in the condo. I love Princeville and know you will too! **As an added note, Princeville is the BEST place to be in the event of a storm! It is no secret that Kauai, with all of its beauty can also be temperamental, with no lack of its share of rainfall and storms. It is always good to be prepared and Princeville is one of the best places to stay on the North Shore in the event of a storm. Princeville is high and dry, safe from Tsunami and floods and is optimally located near to food shopping and emergency services. Roads leading to and from Princeville rarely get affected in storms so getting to and from the airport will not be a problem even if Kauai flexes her muscles during your stay. In general I still recommend renting a vehicle while on Kauai as it provides most visitors with the island access and freedom they prefer. However, for those who enjoy to walk and for anyone who would prefer not to drive, there is plenty to see and do on foot from the Hala Hale. There is also the option of public transit with a bus stop only 5-10 minutes walk from the condo. The Kauai Bus costs $2 and connects around most of the island and to the North Shore as far as Hanalei. There is also the North Shore Shuttle that services the popular beach and hiking destinations west of Hanalei (this is the new standard for accessing these destinations. Reservations are required in advance). The park-and-ride location is in Hanalei, so you can leave your car and avoid the limited parking challenges visiting all destinations West of Hanalei. Uber and Lyft are also available on the island now, but as of 2023 it’s still not yet cost or time effective to use for all the island exploring. Bicycles! Consider some of the alternative options like renting a bike. Bike riding around Princeville is awesome and getting more and more popular! As far as finding and reserving rental cars there are many options from the large companies to local private rental cars rented by island locals. I do have a growing reliable list of people I have met over the years that do this, so reach out to me if you would like this info. You can also find many rentals on Criaigslist and FB Marketplace, but beware of scams! Another popular option now available called Turo is basically a car version of Airbnb providing a platform for car owners to rent their cars, setting certain quality standards etc. To date I have only heard positive reports from my guests who have used Turo and I know many locals who also rent their cars this way. -I exclusively provide my guests with a personally written, island guide, e-book with valuable, up to date information that will help you get the very best out of your time on Kauai. -For safety reasons and in consideration of residents and other guests in the condo complex I do not accept children below the age of 7 years old. -I ask my guests to complete and sign my rental agreement after booking (I use DropBox Sign). This contract is something that has proven useful in providing complete contact details and guest information, conveys important information and is an additional step in avoiding any reservation errors. The contract will indicate exact dates and can serve as an additional receipt for guests records. -Tenant/renter must be 25 years or older
