UPDATE: Currently unavailable for 2021. Do not book. Aloha! We invite you to stay at our comfortable & clean 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment located near a golf course and downtown Hilo. The main house is occupied by my mom who is the land/home caretaker. It's a perfect getaway to experience the Hawaiian island living in a charming local neighborhood. At approximately 600 sq ft, you will enjoy this spacious 1 bedroom/1 bath with a private entrance and patio. The unit also has a nice sitting area with a flat screen TV. The apartment is level and there are no stairs. You will have your own kitchenette with a full size refrigerator/freezer, sink, a burner, coffee maker, microwave, rice cooker, crockpot, and toaster. The cozy bedroom has a queen bed with extra closet space and the sitting area has two twin beds. Bathroom: The private bathroom is complete with shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, towels, and other toiletries. Closet: The spacious closet has extra storage space, extra pillows and blankets, hangers, and an extra fold out futon. Safety: For your peace of mind, this property is equipped with motion sensor path lights. Taxes: Taxes are included in cleaning fees. Mahalo! The caretakers have a washer and dryer. Please kindly ask to use the washer/dryer if needed and tips would be greatly appreciated. I do not live on the island. I will gladly assist with you (by text 24/7 or email) with suggestions for attractions/activities to enjoy your visit and experience the Big Island. However, the caretakers of the house can assist you with basic questions. There is no "trash collection" in Hilo. The caretakers will collect your garbage to dispose of at the Hilo dump site. Please leave your "full" bag of trash outside of the main house front door to help keep the unit clean and to deter pests. Please be kind to them and tip them a small amount for this service as you see fit. The house is 45 min to 1 hour to the Volcano National Park, 15 min to Hilo town, 5 min to the KTA supermarket, 10 min to the Movie theater/Mall. We are 1 block from the Hilo Municipal Golf course and 1 block from a new Fire Station/EMS service. We do not allow smoking in the house. Please no illicit drugs. Please no intoxication on alcohol. Please no parties or dramas. Please do not be extremely loud or obnoxious. Please respect our neighbors as this is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Quiet hours are between 10p and 6 am.
