Plantation Managers Home - Moon Room
The Moon Room is located near the living room area. This room features a full sized bed and is a garden view. The private bathroom with shower is located across the living space into the hall. Coffee is ready at 7:30a, followed by breakfast at 8a in the dining room. We have updated our rates to reflect all of Hawaii sales & lodging tax. Minimum 2-night or longer stay is required. Masks are required in common areas. Waipio Wayside is situated on over an acer of a lush tropical plants and trees. The house was built in 1932 for a sugar plantation superintendent. We have a large garden with hanging orchids and organic roses. Several tropical fruit plants are on property which are used in our breakfast when in season. Beautiful tranquil ocean views from our spacious deck. We offer a common area full of books and TV. Water, tea, and snacks available at the bar-style counter, along with shared guest mini fridge. We have a large deck with swing chair, table and chairs, and hammock for use. Yard access available from the deck. The covered gazebo provides great ocean views. I like to meet and greet my guests in person when possible. There is always a welcoming note on the front door for you. We are located in a rural part of Old Hawaii on highway 240 the road to Waipio Valley. The Hawaiian Valley of the Kings. The historic town of Honoka’a is just minutes down the road that features local shops and restaurants. Farmers Market at the end of Mamane Street on Sunday’s from 9-2. We offer free parking. And do recommend that you have a car on the Big Island. We are two plus miles from the nearest bus route. We do have the Hawaii tree frogs and we do have ear plugs here for you. Masks are recommended in common areas, unless eating or drinking.
