Long term guests (30+days) will enjoy a turn-key place to call home during their work, study, rotation, sabbatical, contract, relocation, etc. Everything you'll need for going off to work/study, relaxing in respite, comfortable temp accommodations for relocating, or adventuring out to explore the area or island is all included. Retirees looking for a discounted quiet place of island respite. This bedroom fits those who prefer a double bed or want to have a partner visit during their long stay. UPDATE: Please know, under the current pandemic circumstances, we are following all the federal, state, county, city and AirBnB mandates and policies along with our own home requirements to help all of us be good global and Honolulu citizens. Please send me a inquiry to run by your plans with me to consult with the most current policies. Long Stays (30 days or longer): Your deeply discounted double bed and shared bath await your stay tucked in the corner of our 3 bdrm/2 ba condo. A student studying abroad, a visiting faculty member, a PhD student researching through one of the several nearby campuses, a travel nurse, med student or intern rotating through one of the many nearby hospitals, might well enjoy having everything they need in a cozy room to land in at the end of each tropical day. Whether you're out early each day to be on campus, at the hospital, or downtown firm or working through Wifi from a laptop, being located in the middle of a tropical green space in the center of Honolulu will give you the best of what both have to offer - being close to, while feeling away from. We provide just-like-home enjoyments of cable TV and wifi in your room. Supplies for BBQ, picnics, the beach, snorkeling and hikes. An in-unit washer/dryer with all supplies is available. Please see our twin bedroom for long stays with a smaller budget or our Master Suite if you'd like your own en suite bathroom, more couple privacy, or reserving the parking space. Click on my profile, then +More, then scroll down and see listings for each of the 3 bedrooms or combinations of for our condo unit. Remember, "Long Stay" listings are deeply discounted for stays of 28 days or more. We provide just-like-home enjoyments of cable TV, wifi in your room, BBQ area, and pool. Supplies for BBQ, picnics, the beach and hikes are available. A small frig with filtered water, microwave and coffee pot are conveniently in your room. In-unit washer/dryer with laundry supplies will help keep your packing small or your long stay laundry chores We take care of the common areas weekly. As a long stay guest, you'll be required to have you room lightly cleaned a few times a month. Please see our master suite listing if you'd like your own en suite bathroom, more couple privacy, or booking two or three rooms together. There is one parking space in front of the unit. Guests of the Master Suite are afforded priority of reserving the stall. As a convenient option, please ask about secured car sharing at $189/w, $630/m, or at the special guest rate of $24/day. I'm out of town a little more often these days, but we have several instructional placards to assist you in enjoying our home. We also have many books, pamphlets and printouts to help you pick out nearby favorite sites, beaches, attractions, restaurants, etc or simply read about Hawai'i, it's history or learn how to play the ukulele. Nu'uanu is located just mountain-side of Downtown Honolulu's waterfront. Less than 1 mile from Hawai'i Pacific U, Queen's Hospital, Kuakini Hospital, and the financial district, and less than 4 miles from University of Hawai'i, Waikiki and the convention center (direct buses are a couple blocks walk). Nearly every cuisine is covered in it's many eateries, from fine-dining to local casual favorites. Two supermarkets, two drug stores, and 7-11 are all from 2 blocks to 6 blocks away. Chinatown and other farmer's markets and the waterfront are 1 to 1.5 miles away or a direct bus ride down to. The waterfront is 1.5 miles south; swimming beaches 3+ miles away. Long stays will benefit from a HOLO bus pass for $60/month. Bus stops are within a couple blocks walk. Waikiki is best visited by bus (where parking is very limited and expensive). Circle Island bus riding is one the best and economic ways to explore the other side of the island without a car. Mopeds are rented in Waikiki and can be a very enjoyable way to explore this side of the island. Renting a car for just those days when you want to explore the other sides of the island is the best way to manage a long stay. Most guests have been thoroughly enjoying walking, especially to downtown, the waterfront, and even along the beach front to as far as Waikiki. We have always enjoyed our walkable community, especially when enjoying an evening out, yet we are still pleasantly surprised at how much guests are discovering so many places to see, visit and enjoy through walking on their days off. There are convenience, drug and grocery stores between 2 blocks and .5 mile away. Eateries and restaurants located from 2 blocks to two miles about every block and offer a wide price and cuisine range. Don't forget to bring your long trek shoes/sandals that have been well-rehearsed in taking you far. The neighborhood, weather, and nearby areas that are more easily explored on foot, will compel you to walk; shoes not broken in might have you regretting you did. CLEANING FEE NOTE: If you're stay is 43+ days, an additional $9 will be charged at that time for each additional Saturday night in your reservation for sharing of the weekly cleaning of the common areas and bi-weekly spiffing up of your room expenses. Our beauty marks: PARKING: There is one loading zone space 15-20 min (midway along building in front of elevators). A parking space in front of our unit is only available if it is not reserved by the master suite guest. UNrestricted parking is limited on the main street (I find one about 25% of the time). One block up on a side street there is unrestricted (I find 90% of the time). Otherwise UNrestricted street parking can usually be found within a 2-3 block walk. 1-2 block walk restricted parking times are 6:30a-8:30a and 2:30p-5:30p. There is also space for a self-locking moped or bicycle can be parked in front of the unit. QUIET: This is an urban condominium, so some noise is expected, albeit less than most, as we are tucked into a green space. This room has an immediate neighbor's window who are currently are raising three small children. So this room might not be comfortable for those needing to sleep during the day or fall asleep before 10pm. Please see the twin or the master bedroom for lite sleepers to better ensure the level of quiet you need. A/C: We do not have. Please do not book if you are sensitive to not having an A/C'd place to live. We do have lots of fans though! :-)
