Plantation Cottage near Hawi
Our place is in the country near historic Kapa'au and Hawi. A short drive to scenic Pololu valley. A historic neighborhood, this was the sugar plantation managers "homestead". We moved a rustic 100 year old plantation house from Hawi and placed it on our front two acres with my wood shop near by. We live on our back 10 acre farm, close by, with our animals. We grow an abundance of fruit that we provide, when in season, for our guests. We are happy to have the trade winds, and fresh air. Classic rustic old style plantation house, fronting huge banyan trees and palm trees, is a typical local home giving one a typical experience of living in Hawaii . You will be away from highway traffic noise, the nights are peaceful, and on clear nights an abundance of stars in the sky. Please keep in mind, this is the tropics and the country and might not be for everyone who prefer big town city life surroundings. There are insects but there are also cute little geckos (Hawaiian and Madagascar) that eat them. Our Tax Accommodation #TA-047-247-1552-01 Access to the whole house, with the exception of our attached office. We try not to be in the office if our guests are in the house. Our neighborhood is safe and old style Hawaii...great hiking and exploring There is no all around the clock local transportation. Nearby grocery stores along with places to shop are 2 to 10 minutes away by car. We have Wi Fi...and a 100 year old cat, that thinks she owns the place...
